2. What are you two doing here?

POV River

This morning I woke up to ice cold water all over my body "What the fuck mamma what was that for"

" Hey I tried to wake you up three times already hijo and you know the rules. If you don't wake up the first three times it's the ice bucket " My mother says while looking at me with the bucket in her hands

" Now get up or your going to be late for the first day of your new school and luckily for you you got kicked out of your old school on the last day before summer break so you're able to start the new school year with everyone else hijo." My mother said walking out my door leaving the bucket by it knowing I hate when she does that

Once I saw my mom walking down the stairs I got up out of my bed, and went into the bathroom to shower and after my shower I wrapped my towel around my waist, while I grabbed my toothbrush and started brushing my teeth.

I walk back into my room and get dressed for school then I walk out of my room and hear my mom call my name telling me to come to the kitchen so I did knowing that she probably going to tell to stay out of trouble like she always does

" River hijo I just wanted to tell you that your dad's coming back to town to night so if you hear any noise, it's your father coming home from his work trip so don't worry " she say handing me a plate of pancakes and bacon with eggs I'm surprised I thought she was going to going to give me a lecture about getting into a fight with the way she's looking at me right now before I go to school

" Also I don't want you getting into anymore fights at this new school do you understand me hijo if I hear any problems from the principal today on your first day, I'm taking away the keys to your car " she said with her arms crossed over her chest while sitting down to eat her breakfast

So I was partially right about her, giving me a lecture should've known I was not gonna get off that easily with her " Mamma I know, and I already told you I wouldn't okay " I said bending down and giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek

" Look hijo I know you don't like people and they piss you off but you going to need to stop getting into fights with them okay I can't have you getting expelled again. " she said while holding my hand in hers and letting out the breath she was holding in.

" I know mamá look I'll try and stay out of trouble in this new school but I can't make no promises mamma. " After I said that to her I told her I had to go because my Best friend Nathan was here to pick me up since it was are first day of junior year for us so we decided to ride together.

" Nathan you better stop honking your damn fucking horn before my mom comes out here and smack you on the back of the head and we both know she'll do it to "  I said getting in to his truck and pulling his hand away from the honk button.

" Sorry man I've been waiting out here for 10 minutes you were taking forever man " he said looking at me with this evil smirk on his face before I can ask why his face looks like that he smacks me on my head and says " that's for being an idiot and getting expelled again jackass seriously stop putting your mom through so much shit man do you forget she's the only parent you have considering your dad's always on work trips. "

" I know your right Nate but hey it's not my fault I was expelled again do you remember Christian  from elementary school well turns out he was the one telling everyone Cass got knocked up " I said looking back at him then he smack me again on the head.

" OK man if you smack me one more time on the head I swear I'm throwing you out of your own car and driving to school without you dick ." I said while putting on seatbelt

" No you won't you know why because Cassidy won't let you plus she'll call you an idiot for getting expelled again especially getting into a fight with Christian over some shit that wasn't true. We both know Cassidy isn't pregnant Plus you know she doesn't give a fuck what people think about her " he said with a cocky smirk on his face but he forgot one thing Cassidy isn't here right now.

" She wouldn't if she was here but she's not Nate plus, you know me I wasn't going to let him talk shit about my cousin. " I said with a smirk on my face but before I could do anything to him the back door to his truck opened and Cassidy and Aaliyah came in.

" What are two doing here? " I asked confused considering Cassidy has her own car and Aaliyah has her brother Felix who can take her to school

" Where here because we new Nathan was giving you ride today and I didn't feel like driving today and Aaliyah is here because she didn't feel like riding with Felix today " Cassidy said with a smile on her face while looking at me plus Cassidy lives next door while Aaliyah lives across the street from us so it makes sense that they would want to ride with us

" Okay let's go before we're late people I have to be at school early today, because I already told my English teacher I would help her set up her class room this morning for extra credit " Aaliyah says smacking Nate's arm so that he would start the car so we can leave

" Okay I'm going sheesh Aaliyah calm down. It's just some extra credit when you help them set up the rooms it's not like it's the end of the world " Nathan said as he's backing out of my driveway making sure to not hit my car

When we got to the school the girls said they were going to go look for the rest of are friends and we tell them okay and walked into the school to are lockers.

" I see you already got the girls attention and some of there boyfriends to but they look more like they want to kill you right now man. " he said with a smirk on his face while opening his locker to put away his bag in since it's the first day of school you don't really need it

" I don't care dude they can keep looking not my problem " I said looking back at him while leaning on the lockers

That's when the bell rang for first period Which is apparently English class at least I'm lucky I have it with Nathan

" Come on we got English class first we don't want to be late I hear the teacher is a hard ass if you are. " Nathan says as he starts walking to are class.

I follow behind him but wasn't really paying attention to who is walking in front of us so I accidentally bumped into them and I saw that it was girl so I tell her to watch we're she going.

When I start walking away I hear her say something " First, who the hell do you think you are and second I'm no short stack you asshole " which made me smile but I changed it to a smirk when I looked back at her that's when I look her up and down to see her features and notice she's pretty hot.

I start walking to her and Nathan follows me to see what I'm going to do " Are you sure about that short stack because to me your small but if you want to be taller I can add a couple inches in you." I said smirking at her.

That's when she punches me in the face which I didn't expect, because girls never hit me before even when I treat them like crap but she didn't give two fucks god that fucking hurt since I wasn't expecting it.

Before I can say anything, she grabs her friends hands and walks away but what she doesn't know is that I'm not gonna let this go that easily short Stack you're in for a hell of time.

" Oh dude I know that look on your face. What are you planning to do? " Nathan asks while looking at them walking away

" I don't know yet but when I do you'll know Nate now let's go to our stupid English class " I said looking at her walk away

" Do you know her name Nate " I ask him while walking the same direction she went

" Yeah I do but all I know is that her name is Layla but I think I know someone in our friend group who might know more about her why don't you ask Cassidy and Jessamine since they're on the cheer squad which means they might know who she is " he says looking at me while walking to are class but when I open the door to our class room, my eyes land on on a pair of light honey brown eyes that I recognize from earlier.
