LILITHAs I stare across the midnight sky I understand where everything went wrong.
I understand that I am at fault for everything that has happened. But what about others, why put so much blame on me when I was just growing as a human being. Some people may call me the devil. But in my eyes I'm just as evil as every other person in the world. But have you really seen the devil in pale daylight? I don't think so. Everybody needs somebody. Even the "devil" needs a friend.
I am now 21. I am over the age of 18. This means if I was to do something wrong I would be going to jail not juvie. WOW. My heart starts beating so fast as I think about my consequences. So fast that the heartbeat is now louder than my thoughts but that was cut short when I heard yelling.
"YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE WENT THROUGH!" some deep voice stated.
"BECAUSE YOU NEVER TALK TO ME!" a feminine voice scrawled back. They were so loud I totally forgot what I was thinking about. They kept on bickering until I just got fed up.
"WILL BOTH OF YOU PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP!" I yelled. They dialed down. I was in fact in control of the situation. Until...
"Who are you to tell us to do anything?" The feminine voice said.
"Well you and him over there were yelling so loud I'm pretty sure the whole campus heard you." I swear I always find my way into these types of situations. I desperately need help. That's when I hear.
"Hey Lilith..what's going on here?" Said a familiar voice.
It was my best friend Lyla. She has been my best friend since forever. We played together, ate together, and even stole together. She was my other half. I don't know where I would be without her. She was way taller and skinnier than me. She had curly ginger hair. She was literally perfect. All the boys on campus wanted to be with her. The girls wanted to be her.
"It's just these bimbos don't know how to keep their mouths closed," I replied back. She looked confused.
"Lilith, there's no one there" I quickly turned around. She was right. There was no one there.
"Are you high?" She asked."No, I'm not high Lyla," I reassured her. And I was telling the truth. I haven't been doing drugs since the last November. I'm really starting to think the AA meetings are really helping me advance in life. Hm.
"Wait. I swear there was this boy and girl. And they were arguing on and on." I said.
"Oh. You must be talking about Kanan and Savannah." Lyla stated.
"So you saw them!" I replied happily. I felt like I was crazy. Seeing and hearing people who weren't even here.
"No. I always hear them though. They really need to break up. They're pretty toxic."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Girl, they cheat on each other with different people every day, and she has the nerve to say that he loves her and only her," Lyla said.
"I have never seen him around here," I stated truthfully.
"Yeah, I think he just transferred here. His dad is like this rich man that has millions of dollars and owns multiple companies."
"How do you know all of this?" I asked.
"Nathan told me. Their best friends." Nathan and Lyla have been boyfriend and girlfriend since the beginning of time. I'm surprised they haven't run away together and eloped. But hey that's the mystery behind eloping. You may never know.
