Percy POV

I sat across from my mom and Rachel in the Big House wringing my hands nervously. I noticed that scales spread across my hands as I continued with my nervous habit. My slight claws turning into talons and a muzzle slowly developed. This was horrible. How do you explain that you've been turned into something you used to hunt. Well more defend yourself against every five minutes but that's beside the point.

"Percy. Explain yourself." Mom told me sternly. Either she didn't notice all the small changes going on with me or she didn't care. Well mom always cared so that debunked option 2.

"Well mom you see." I started but I stopped as I felt something start to poke out of my back. Two somethings. I really either needed to calm down or get outside. I couldn't calm down so outside it was.

"It'd be easier to show you." I told her.

"Show us what Percy?" She asked not noticing my discomfort.

"What happened." I told them vaguely.

"Well where to?" Rachel asked already standing.

"Just outside." I told her as they followed me out. I felt a tail start to travel down the leg of my pants.

"Percy who's is that?" Rachel asked as my tail poked out from my pants leg.

"Who's is what?" I asked making my tail retreat.

"There was a blue thing sticking out of your pants." Rachel pointed at my leg for emphasis. This caught mom's attention.

"Percy what are you showing us?" She asked a small bit of fear in her voice. I wasn't even changed yet and I was scaring her. This can't end well.

"Well I was bitten by a weird monster two days ago and this happened." The changes happened right in front of them as they stared in horror at me. I finished and looked down at them. Rachel fainted and mom just stared.

"I knew you wouldn't take thisss well." I hissed and looked away ashamed.

"No that's not it honey it's just..... surprising." Mom told me as she came forward. She put a hand on my neck and smiled.

"I won't have to worry about you dying as often as you stare him in the face." She joked. I would have laughed but I knew she was trying to not freak out.

"Thankss mom." Rachel woke up after that. She got up and stared at me.

"I wasn't dreaming. How come your not killing people yet?" She asked.

"I don't want to kill people. Plush I'm sstill me. I jusst look different." As though those words summoned him Tyson came running. I shrugged mom off and prepared to get tackled by him. Seeing him barrel into me mom realized why I had moved her. I got tangled with Tyson. He had his hands wrapped around me and had tears trailing down his face. I took most of the skidding across the ground and had Tyson lie on me.

"Brother. You came back. I looked through the forest for you but I didn't find you." He cried as he held me. Luckily being bigger then him I could breathe through his hug.

"I hid. I didn't want you to worry but I didn't know if you would recognize me." I told him as he let go. I saw Annabeth standing next to us holding her mouth to contain her laughter. Tyson walked off to tell Blackjack while Annabeth came closer.

"I told you he'd be excited to see you." She told me.

"I know but what about dad? What about the rest of the gods? How would they react?" I asked her. She smiled.

"I asked him before I caught Thalia walking away through the woods. I asked how he would react if you came back the same yet different at the same time. You know what he said?" She asked me.
