Selah walked down the corridor of her apartment building blasting music by Jhene Aiko in her headphones.
She was dressed for work in her white button-up and black slacks. Her curly hair slicked back into a bun showcasing her flawless skin and facial features. She was in a chipper mood despite the brief argument that transpired between her, and her long-time boyfriend Dante.
Arguments between them were almost daily but Selah paid it no mind, it had become the norm.
Dante and Selah met in high school during their sophomore year. They were each other's first everything and outlasted most of their peers relationship-wise. The story on how they met was nothing short of cliche being that Selah was the shy girl attracted to the popular guy.
However, their connection was every bit of rare. Dante standing at 6'2 with cocoa brown skin, deep waves, hazel hooded eyes, a Colgate smile, and a slender frame with just the right amount of muscle had Selah addicted. He was handsome, charming, and surprisingly intellectual. Thus, making their understanding of each other easy.
That same understanding caused them to lack leniency with each other. Either Selah thought Dante was playing with her intelligence or Dante felt Selah lacked it from time to time as she accused him of cheating every time he came in late.
Truth was he was. It was just the times he wasn't and was being honest that made him furious she would still accuse him. He was condemned whether he was being faithful or not.
Selah was beautiful standing at 5'5, with pretty brown eyes, honey skin, full pouty lips that made men want to kiss them, and a curvy body that turned heads whenever she was out in public. Dante was more than proud to have her on his arm but he couldn't help the sexual urges that caused his infidelity.
As Selah walked out of her apartments so engrossed in her phone she ended up bumping into someone carrying a large box. Making her drop it in the process.
The stranger dropped the box revealing a handsome face. Selah nearly became starstruck, just staring at him.
He was godly tall and golden brown with dreads that seemed to flow everlastingly. Resembling the rapper King Von to the tee but darker. The white tee he wore fit his muscular body snugly, Selah was nearly drooling.
"My bad, I didn't see you there due to this big ass box." The man retorted as he absorbed Selah with his eyes, dropping the box to pick up her phone to hand to her.
Selah snapped out of her trance and responded. Embarrassed from the whole ordeal. "It's okay, thank you." She quickly grabbed the phone and walked around him. Trouble came with handsome faces, she knew that all too well.
Once she made it inside her 2019 Chevy Malibu, she released a breath she didn't know she was holding in. Something told her that wouldn't be the last encounter with her new neighbor.
____________________________Dante stood in the window spewing with anger as he watched the interaction between Selah and the handsome man. He wanted to run to where they were and cause a scene but decided against it.
As much as he cheated he knew Selah would embarrass him even more. Instead, he called up one of his flings to invite them over while Selah was out working, he was desperate to use the ordeal as an excuse to get even.
He texted Giselle one of his favorites. Not even a minute went by and she replied "On my way." She was always down for whatever which is why he kept her around.
Twenty minutes later she was knocking on the door.
Dante smiled as he walked to the door rubbing his hands together. After opening it he took in how good Giselle looked.
With her cinnamon-brown skin, green eyes, and pink lips, the curvy yet thick body had him ready to pounce. He heard a noise and looked around her to see it was the new neighbor who'd dropped a large couch cushion. Dante stared at him for a few seconds before mugging and pulling Giselle inside.
Though he had plans for the man that now stayed across from him, his evening with Giselle was most important.
"Where's your girl." Giselle asked him as she walked closer to Dante who was closing and locking the door.
He turned around to meet her face-to-face. "Don't worry about her, it's just me and you ma."
"Say less." Giselle replied before removing her clothes, not bothering to waste time. She knew the routine that occurred between her and Dante.
