Rise and shine!

The day started in annoyance as my alarm clock chimed it's usual tone. I grumbled as I rubbed my eyes and patted around my bed in search for my phone. I grabbed it, pulling it to my face and turning it on. As my sight adjusted I saw the dreaded time of 7:00 AM on the blinding screen.

The mornings after long weekends are always the worst. Especially when you stayed up to the butt crack of dawn the night before. Which of course I have nobody to blame but myself.

Eventually I gained the energy to roll out of bed, although regretting it as the cool morning air hit me. Shuttering, I pattered my feet against the chilling floor tiles and into my bathroom.

It was May 26th and school was soon over, thank the lord almighty. It also happened to be 72 days of texting Boo, aka Mystery Boy who's name I still don't know. Its a good thing we've called each other before so I know he isn't just some random creeper.

Speaking of the loser,

Ready for another day of school? ;)

I set my phone on the counter and turned on the shower water. I set it to the usual warm setting and strip from my clothing before getting in. After finishing my probably only moment of relaxation for the day I step out and quickly dry my hair and body.

I dress into nothing fancy, the usual black leggings, a baggy grey shirt and my favourite flannel. And thats it, thats basically as good as It gets.

I grab a towel for my hair and dry it as quickly as possible. I know its bad for your hair and causes split ends and blah blah blah but I rather look like a regular dog rather than a wet god.

"Aurora, honey." My mom does her usual morning shout from downstairs.

"Im up mom." I take one more glance at myself before grabbing my bag and phone off the bathroom counter and jogging my way down the stairs.

"Good morning hun, how was your sleep?" My dad asks, unfolding his morning newspaper. I study him hesitantly as I walk into the kitchen, my dad wasn't usually the perkiest member of the family.

"It was, alright." I respond, sitting on the stool across from him. I fold my arms together and take a moment to read the front of the morning paper.

Boring.

My mom places a plate of eggs and bacon in front of me and pours a cup of orange juice into my cup as I read Mystery Boy's response. I grunt to myself as my eyes scan the text. I pick up my fork and stab a piece of my moms mouth watering bacon.

"No phones at breakfast." My mom warns, but uses her usual soft tone.

"Sorry." I mumble after swallowing a fork full of food. I mentally moan at the taste of it. I'd have to say my mom makes the best bacon and eggs.

"Good morning everybody." A trail of loud thuds followed by a deep voice escapes throughout the house.

"Good morning Stephen." I answer my brother as I take another bite of my bacon. I make sure to keep direct eye contact as I do so to mentally rub the deliciousness he can't have in his face.
