jenna ortega was nervous. very nervous.
georgie and emma had this great idea that she should come to new york to see aj. something she was very hesitant about.
it had been days since she talked to aj.
she was almost positive aj wasn't speaking to anyone but her brother.
mia had said that aj changed the locks to her apartment and ignored her phone calls.
and jenna felt horrible.
i mean mia and aj were like sisters and they were fighting because of her.
she knew she needed to fix this.
and she knew it needed to be done in person.
face to face.
but she didn't know what to do or say to aj.
she honestly thought the plan was a little dumb and she would just embarrass herself.
and yet here she was.
standing outside of a cafe that mia said aj always goes to when she's upset or confused.
dylan also had checked her location so that jenna hadn't made a bigger full of herself running around trying to find her.
she had been standing outside for about 10 minutes trying to figure out a way to approach her.
with a long hard breath she wiped her (slightly) sweaty hands against her jeans before opening the door.
upon entering she noticed there wasn't many people in there. just an elderly couple and the worker. and of course she noticed a mess of dark hair sitting in the very back booth.
jenna was moving before she could even think about it.
"hey maria can i get another cup-" aj had started her sentence but was unable to finish it due to the fact a figure had slid into the seat infront of her.
looking up from her book she immediately froze her mouth slightly parting before a neutral expression took over.
there sat jenna.
jenna.
there. right there infront of her.
it was like a dream come true for aj. except aj wouldn't quite agree with that statement anymore.
"hi..." jenna mumbled twiddling with the rings on her fingers.
"hi" aj responded very quick and short.
the two sat there and looked at each other for what felt like hours. years even.
it was like out of all the words in the universe there wasn't one single word that could describe the way they both felt in this mess of a situation.
after a good few minutes of silence aj finally spoke up.
"jenna what are you doing"
"i figure well more like percy figured that i should- we should talk in person."
aj was conflicted.
she wanted to just flat out say "well percy's wrong i don't want to speak with you"
but she couldn't will herself to do so.
"yeah...yeah i think we should." she responded with a nod as she closed her book and placed it into her bag.
she grabbed her cardigan and bag before standing up.
"where are you going"
"i do think it's best if we talked. but not here"
"i don't know how it will turn out and i don't want to ruin one of my only spots of comfort because of the inevitable damage this conversation is going to cause me." she added
"let's go i'll drive."
jenna nodded before standing up and following her.
as aj approached the door she turned around.
"i'll probably be back very soon maria save me one of those croissants please!" she called back to her favorite worker.
"ofcourse honey!!"
and with that aj and jenna were on their way to have a talk that may make or break both of their hearts.
