This was the second time now Tenko and I had been separated. I looked around in a panic again. Had he seen another person resembling his family member? No, it wasn't his fault I had lost him this time, it was mine. I'm the one who let go of his hand. I'm the one who wasn't looking where we were going, causing us to bump into that man.
I called out Tenko's name desperately. Calm down. He couldn't have gotten far this time, I thought, trying to calm myself. I spent probably five minutes looking for him before I spotted a trench coat tossed carelessly in an alleyway. It was the same one that man from earlier was wearing.
Approaching the alleyway, I reached for the trench coat and picked it up. As soon as I did, a dreadful feeling shook my bones. Sweat rolled down my face as my eyes shakily looked down at the coat. Whose coat was this?
Slowly, my eyes looked towards the end of the alleyway. I caught movement. I needed to get out of here. I was scared. But what if Tenko was down that way? What if he was hurt or... worse?
I shakily walked down the alleyway. At one point a cat rushed past me and I nearly jumped out of my skin. Every step I took, the alleyway seemed to get longer. I couldn't shake the feeling I had gotten from the trench coat.
"I wonder how you made it all the way to Tokyo?" I froze. The voice speaking was slow and deep. It rumbled through my body. Was it the police? Had they come for Tenko and I? No... this being was much more sinister. "No matter, I found you anyway."
"Wh-Who are you?" I heard Tenko's voice call out. He sounded frightened. Quietly, I peered around a corner in the alleyway. Almost immediately, I recognized him.
A tall figure, huge figure dressed in black. His bald, faceless head. Instead of eyes there were only two small dips in the skin of his face. A mask, covering the area where his mouth should be. It was All for One. I had seen his face in the news countless times. There was no way I couldn't recognize him.
Was this where he met Tenko? Was this where he took him on as his predecessor, making him into Shigaraki? I needed to stop him, but my body wouldn't move. I was a now quirkless six year old. I had no chance against one of the greatest villains of all time.
"Who am I?" All for One continued on. "I am your hero. I've come to save you."
"Save me? From what?"
"Your past," All for One answered. He took a couple steps towards Tenko. "Come with me, I can—..."
Tenko held his outstretched, gloved hands in front of him, trying to put a distance between All for One and himself. "No, no, that's okay. I'm alright," Tenko told him shakily.
I saw All for One pause. He was silent for several moments. "Where did you get those gloves from, boy?" he finally asked. I froze, a chill running down my spine. He didn't sound too happy about the gloves. What was wrong with the gloves?
"The garbage!" Tenko announced confidently.
All for One chuckled. "The garbage? Since when did you become so smart and... independent." Something was wrong. Something was very wrong. How did All for One know Tenko? He was acting as if he had known him before today. But this was only their first time meeting, wasn't it?
Tenko was shivering as All for One began to approach him again. His large hand reached for Tenko's neck. With a rush of adrenaline, I jumped into view. "Tenko!" I smiled happily, trying to keep the fear out of my voice. "There you are. I was looking all over for you." I side eyed All for One. "Who's this?"
Relief dawning upon Tenko's eyes, he ran over to me and I pulled him into a hug. He buried his face into my shoulder as All for One turned to look at me.
