11. Cat who purrs for happiness

He called in sick today as well. Taehyung has been like this for almost a week now, but he is genuinely exhausted. He doesn't want to get out of bed. Taehyung barely makes it to go to the bathroom. He feels like a pestilent piece of shit existing. Sometimes he watches TV, but he can't concentrate on anything.

It's the first time in a long time he's felt this bad. He ignores the ringing of the doorbell. Sooner or later it will go away and leave him alone. He closes his eyes to go back to sleep. From a startled squeak to a caress on his head. Jimin smiles at him and greets softly, wagging his tail and flicking his ears from time to time.

"You left one of your keys at my house last time."

Taehyung snorts. He had to ask the janitor to help him because he couldn't find the key and now uses the spare one. He doesn't like the electronic lock on the door. He looks irritably at Jimin Who gave him permission to enter his house? Sometimes he takes too many liberties. Like bringing Jungkook too. He listens from here to the TV scandal.

"Get dressed, let's go out."

"I don't want to go out."

"But you will. We have to talk and in your cave of loneliness you won't. GEeeeeeeeeet up- HEY! ARE YOU SLEEPING NAKED?!"

He throws the sheet back and Taehyung turns red, ears sticking to his skull from shock and embarrassment. Jimin leaves the room laughing. Despite everything, being that they never sleep together after doing everything, he had never quite seen it. Taehyung on the other hand, yes he has. What an embarrassment .

"What do you want, why didn't you stay away like I told you?" asks Taehyung in suppressed grunts. Jimin rocks back and forth with his hands in his pockets. Jungkook waits to get his ice cream at the small stand.

"Because I don't need to" he drops his head to the side. "You're my Alpha, I'm your Omega. It's as simple as that."

"I can't be your Alpha. I don't want to be. I already told you that-"

"You eat babies? Just like the other ninety percent of bear beastman, ten percent of pitbull beastman and so on. "Jimin shrugs his shoulders with disinterest and unconcern of the matter. "Taehyung, none of that matters to me. Your instinct can outweigh you. It's natural and there's nothing wrong with it."

"It's wrong when it involves eating your children, murdering your brother and.... It doesn't make sense. I'm leaving."

Jimin links arm with him to force him to walk beside him. Jungkook walks hand in hand with Jimin, eating the cone with chocolate ice cream and sprinkles. They walk to a park. Jungkook sits down to continue with his dessert and Jimin tightens his grip on Taehyung.

"Give me just one real reason why you "can't" be my Alpha" Jimin demands, Taehyung doesn't have time to respond before he adds a vital particle of information, "You want to be, otherwise, you wouldn't be inviting me with your scent all the time, you wouldn't want to accompany me, you wouldn't see me and pull me to you. I know you want to, but you insist you can't."

Taehyung opens and closes his mouth. He can't refute that. It's impossible. Even in his capacity of self-deception and lying, he won't be able to pull it off. Jimin gives him his time to think about it. He takes quite a while, looking at the sky, trees, the occasional butterfly; Jungkook starts playing with a ball he brought.

"If we ever get hatchlings, I might murder them and you too if you try to stop me. I don't want to hurt you in any way and even if we were together, you would eventually get tired of me. I've been through it several times, I don't want it to happen again. I'm tired of it... I don't like the idea of you being with other people either."
