Since Christmas was tomorrow that meant that they were going to lose a few people over the three days. Aara and Peeps were two of the three people, along with Daniela. The Swiss witch was clearly close to crying when she bid goodbye, even though Draco told her that he had already confirmed her return in January.
“So why are you so upset?” he asked, clearly concerned.
“I don’t’ know” Daniela said and rubbed her eyes. “I’m just really going to miss the people here!”
Margaret grinned as she hugged her friend. “You can go and annoy Raffael though” she suggested and Daniela laughed softly.
Harry hugged her too and she told him how happy she was that he had gotten a job here. “I’m looking forward to seeing you again next year. Until then, happy holidays and happy new year.”
“You too Daniela” Jax said with a grin “I’m looking forward to a few calm days until you come back.”
Daniela laughed and pointed at Harry. “Annoy him for me, please, yeah?”
Laughing, Harry nodded. “Will do, Daniela. See you in January.”
And with that they were gone. Roberto and Luke were playing chess in the small activities room, Jax, Lisa and Margaret build snowmen outside and Alex tried to shoot them down with snowballs. It seemed as if today, there weren’t any new arrivals, so the day went pretty calmly.
That was until Alex came up with another contest to host. The Ugly Sweater Contest. Everyone who wanted to join could create the ugliest sweater possible and the people who hadn’t joined the game were the jury. Agatha seemed amused by it and had joined in as well.
Lisa and Alex wore a huge sweater called the ‘sibling’s jumper’; it was pink and had all sorts of Christmas things added to it. No one could wash this thing. Jax wore a thing that actually played music and the reindeer’s nose would light up in red. Roberto wore a Christmas sweater with holes that he had filled with socks. It looked hilarious. Agatha wore one with a plush reindeer on her front and the reindeer back on her back. It was the worst thing Harry had ever seen.
However, the panel voted for the Italian’s ugly sweater, since it really looked just like a four year old had wanted to fix its favourite Christmas jumper and the only things available had been socks. Roberto won the decision for dessert and he chose… ice cream.
In the kitchen, Harry found Draco leaning against the wall. “Hello darling” Harry grinned at his boyfriend as he grabbed the ice cream from the freezer. “How are you?”
“A little sad that Daniela is gone to be honest. It’s always hard when someone leaves who has been here for a few months.”
Harry nodded and smiled at the Slytherin. “I can imagine. However, she’s not gone forever. She’ll come back.”
Draco chuckled and pushed himself away, walking over to Harry. “You’re right. I think it’s the Christmas spirit, it makes me a little sad.”
“Then we better fix this” Harry said and pecked his lips before Draco could ask him what he meant. From the surprised look in his face it was clear that he had imagined something else.
Laughing, Draco then placed his arms around Harry’s waist. “You’re too good for this world, Harry.”
“Maybe. But I don’t really care, as long as it doesn’t bother you.”
“It did when I was younger. But not anymore.”
