"Where is he!?" I scream at them for the fourth time. Rosco puts his head in his hands. "Calm down Kee let me explain." I sit down in the office chair Amanda was sitting in minutes before. Jack took her out so Keith, Rosco and I could talk privately. "No!", I scream, "Why are you telling me I can't kill this horrid, disgusting, thing of a human that ruined my life?! Explain that to me!" A pained look flashes across his eyes before he shakes it off.
"Because you can't kill a dead person Kee!" Rosco yells back. My face is a blank slate, "What?" He sighs,"Kee, Clarence Widow died 2 years ago in a car accident." I scream in anger. They share a look and seem to communicate without words. Keith sits next to me. "That's why we thought of another plan." Rosco throws a heavy folder at me and Keith rolls my chair over to the screen at the front of the room.
I open the folder and we dive in. Papers and papers of words and numbers pushed together in something that makes sense. This presentation is about Clarence and his family and that horrid war. Clarence Widow has a wife named Chariece Ann Widow, (age 54)still living but resides in a home for the mentally unstable. Two sons, Ethan Daniel Widow (age 27) currently in Iran at war, and Elijah Frank Widow (age 17) living with an aunt a couple of towns over. I frown as I read he had a daughter too, she was 8 when she was killed in the crash with him. It takes me less than a minute to brush it off when I remember he killed my dad and might as well killed my mom too.
"So since Mrs.Widow's probably worse than dead in that crazy shack and Private Widow probably won't come back alive, we were thinking closest to killing Widow would to kill his last remaining family line." Rosco smiles,"And if the rest of the family happens to 'get in the way', I don't reckon anyone will care either." Keith and him laugh. I smile.
"How are we gonna do it?" I ask. Rosco gives me that fatherly look. "We were thinking that you could take the lead on this since really, this is all you've been after, the biggest revenge for your father." I can't believe I'd ever see the day, I quickly blink away my tears. "Thank you." I whisper. I'm hugged from both sides. "We're all going to leave you alone for the rest of the day and by 7 tomorrow morning I want to here your plan."
I nod and get up to leave. I stop and grab the folder so I can plan everything out. As I grab the folder I see Amanda's drawing. Knifes. Knifes and dead people. My blood runs cold as I read the description at the top; 'mi familie'. No child should grow up thinking about revenge and death. That's not a way to live. I know, that's the way I've lived my whole life.
I tuck the drawing into the folder as I set my jaw. I won't let her live like me. I'll prove she can do better. I'll kill my enemies so she won't have any. I can show her I'm stronger than that. My plan will solve my family's problems.

Whack! I jerk my head back up and rub my nose. Fourth time I've fallen asleep on the paper stacks, my nose is really starting to pay for it. I look at my alarm clock, it's 1:15 a.m. ugh, I've been in my room all day. My stomach protests at me as I pick my pencil back up. I put my blue robe over my bare legs and over sized T-shirt. I slowly open my door, careful not to let it creak and silently, expertly walk down both sets of stairs and pad over to the fridge.
I grab a glass of water and a banana. I look out the window and see the moonlight clear on the pond in the back. I finish eating and unlock the rickety back door and sit in the yard. I dip my toes in the pond and lay back. I sigh at the sky, "what do I do daddy? What do you want?" I love nights like this where you can count all the constellations and believe that if you look close enough, you can see heaven.
I always go outside on clear nights, I feel like my parents can see me better. "I'm not your father but I think he'd want whatever you want. Parents just want their children to be happy." I sit up and twist back and see Missy sitting in her carved rocking chair. "Is that what parents are like?" She nods. "That sounds like it'd be nice." I lay back again. "I know Rosco and I can never take the place as your real family or anything but we really do love you. Your his favorite, but don't tell Amanda." I nod.
"I don't know what your plan is or what's going on in your mind but I think you should do whatever you think is best. Don't let anybody sway your decision honey. We'll all love you either way." Missy used to be a spy way back when in her teenage years. Up until 22 when she fell in love with Rosco that is. She always was undercover, she was a mastermind.
She seduced every man that went her way and killed them all shortly after. She was always my inspiration. Now I know what to do. I get up and walk to her. I bend over and hug her in her chair. "Thank you," I whisper in her ear, "for everything." She nods and kisses the top of my head. "Are you coming in?" I ask. She rocks back and forth slowly staring at the sky. "No not quite yet. But don't wait up for me I'll be in soon."
"I love you Keelie." She told me before I went in. "I love you too."
