Chapter 1 - Friends

Georgie's POV

"Hey" Casey went inside the car and buckled up. She sat shot gun now and it was time to fetch Mia. Casey, Mia and me have been friends since high school and it was luck that we were still in the same school. Casey was the typical social girl that gets to party almost every weekend. Mia was the hopeless romantic among us, basically being with her boyfriend for 3 years she continues to fill their relationship with love. While me? I guess i was the nerd among us, i'm really an introvert and the only reason i party or go out is because they drag me along with them.

"So Georgie, I have a blind date for you. I mean he knows you and all that but yeah" Casey

"Goodluck having to talk to Connor about it"

"Fyi, i already talked to Connor and he agreed" Casey

No way. I don't believe her. Connor wouldn't agree. He's the most protective person in the entire world. He's like a mini version of my dad when it comes to personality and I'm not even exaggerating. That cousin of mine has been threatening any guy that I come close to being a boyfriend. He's also the reason why most guys in high school barely asked me out. Also the reason why most of the guys i went out with came from other schools because of Casey, she always hooks me and Mia up with guys he knew.

"There's no way he agreed. You know him"

"I know that's why i told him before even arranging this" Casey

We got to Mia's house before i asked Casey why she did that. I honked the horn so we could get going. Mia started running towards the car into the backseat. Mia had her phone in her ear. As she went in the car she was still talking to someone. Casey and I exchanged looks as we saw our dear friend looked pissed off.

"No way! Then choose between me or that outing" Mia

Mia went on and on with her argument with her boyfriend who was just actually telling her that he won't be able to meet her on the weekend because of an outing he's going. Neither me nor Casey said anything on our drive to school and we just kept giving signals about their conversation.

Walking through the halls i could already see Connor with Jordan and Liam at our usual table by the garden. We always come to school around 40 minutes earlier to just hang out. But this day, they look like they're about to hurt someone. I could see how Jordan was clenching his jaw while Liam is cracking his knuckles. Casey must have sensed something's about to go on.

"Connor, what's wrong?" I approached him and he looked at me softly. He always did that face when he doesn't want me to know when he's about to bicker with someone. I grew up with him being like this all the time. I know he just wants me away from any fights.

"Nothing, go to class. Now Georgie" Connor told me firmly and I pouted.

"Fine, if you won't tell me then i'll ask Jordan" I turned to Jordan and he sighed knowing he won't be able to not tell me what's happening. That's one perk of having Jordan as my bestfriend and Connor's friend. Even when Connor doesn't want me to know, i turn to Jordan.

"I'm not telling you this time Goergie" Jordan

"What? Why?" Jordan always tells me whoever they try to intimidate or bicker with. Why won't he tell me this time?

"I'll tell her" I turned to see Mia teary eyed. Casey held my hand and dragged me towards Mia. We could see how she is trying to hold her tears. Now I had an inkling on who they were going to have to talk to. Mark was Mia current boyfriend and judging from the phone call she had with him, they broke up. But what's bothering me is that how can Mark and Mia's break up affect those 3. It wasn't like them. They have always been protective of us but it wasn't like they get mad when one of us break up with those guys.

"Tell me too" Casey said. Casey was the type that you can't put out of the story. She always makes sure to make herself present throughout everything that has happened within us. She may be crazy and complicated but she sure knows how to cheer us up.

"Wait. We have to tell you something Mia" Liam said. Liam was the serious one. Whenever he has to say something, we knew that it would be big. It's not like him to actually say something out of the blue without it being like a bombshell of information and we weren't in joke mode so we knew he knows something that made the 3 of them pissed.

"What is it?" Mia

"Private" Liam

"Whatever you have to say to Mia you can say it in front of us" Casey

"Just tell them already" Jordan

"We caught Mark cheating on Mia last night at the club. We saw him with another chick" Liam dropped the bomb as if he himself was about to burst. All of us knew how much Liam cares for Mia, they were siblings after all. This wasn't the first time we've seen Liam this angry but who wouldn't, he loved Mia and always took care of her the same way Connor was with me but Connor was my cousin.

"What?! H-he couldn't. Tell me you're lying Liam! H-he can't do this! H-how could he cheat on me last night and break up with me today" Mia was already crying. Me and Cassey hugged her, we knew how much she loves Mark and having him cheat on her was the stupidest thing he could ever do. He knew how protective we were of her.

"That's why you three should go on to class, we'll handle this" Connor said firmly. I knew better that to go against Connor when he's this serious. But then again there's Casey who can't seem to get along with Connor when he's pissed. Casey always thinks that we should witness these things that they do.

"No. We are going to watch how you guys punish that guy that dare to cheat on Mia" Cassey said but Connor knew better and Mia and I agreed that we didn't want to see them have the talk with Mark.

"We should just go Casey, Mia needs us more than having to watch them practically threaten and beat up Mark"

"Why can't you just do as I say Casey? Mia and Georgie knows i'm telling them what's best for them and you just have to always contradict me" Connor

"I'm just saying that you can't always keep us away Connor. You guys may be one year older than us but you can't always do this to us. You guys like keeping us from the dark" Casey

"We're only doing this for you" Both Jordan and Connor said at the same time.

Jordan butting in is a sign for Casey to give up. Jordan was Casey's cousin. Jordan wasn't as protective as Connor was but when he speaks up against Casey it means she should just back off already.

"Come on, let's go" I pulled Casey and Mia to the girl's bathroom at the basement cause there are barely girls in here and we knew that we girls needed to talk.

Mia kept on crying for about 6 minutes until she was able to calm herself down. She couldn't believe how Mark was able to do this to her. What she wanted to tell us was that Mark broke up with her while they were on their phone conversation because according to him, Mia doesn't understand his hobbies of outdoor sports. His excuse is as lame as he is. Mia loves outdoor sports but he barely invites her to his adventures. Maybe Mark wasn't the right guy for Mia.
