Today is finally Monday and I walk into work ready to do my job. When I get to the receptionist desk she eyes her surroundings wearily before motioning me to come closer quickly. She looks spooked as if someone had shaken her up pretty badly.

"Chasidy the police were here about your case." She looks around again to see if someone was listening before proceeding to speak.

"They want you and our company off the case. Even offered us money. But apparently your client is paying way more than what they offered us so the boss turned them away." She said quickly and before she gets another word in the boss approached us.

"Can I speak to you Ms.Johnson?"

"Of course."

I silently followed him back to his office and we get weird looks until the door closes. He let out a heavy sigh and sat at his desk. His head goes in his hands before he speaks to me.

"I don't know what we got into taking this case but you have to win. I know that's alot of pressure but it's something going on. Something bigger than us Chasidy." He said finally looking up at me.

My boss has never called me by my first name. We have never been that cool for obvious reasons. But I can see the sincerity in the expression on his face. He looks scared.

"The CEO of the firm called me today before the police arrived. He told me that if I gave into the police's scare tactics then I-. Me and my family will be out on the streets by tonight." He sighed defeated.

"Why are they on our asses about this specific case?"

" The police offered us 500,000 to drop it's . Your client is paying us 1.5 million."

I have never been stunned to silence but I guess there's a first time for everything. First of all that's a lot of fuckin money. And the way our company works the lawyers get
30% of what the client pays and the rest goes to the company. So that's 450,000 dollars I get for representing Hoseok.

"J-just wrap up the case alright. I have faith in your capability Ms.Johnson."

I can only nod my head and leave his office. Getting to my desk I try to clear my head but I can't. I feel like this little cubicle walls are closing in on me. I have to call somebody.
