Third povIf working your ass off was a person it would be Chasidy Johnson. The case has been stressful to work out because it seems like there are always obstacles purposely placed in the way. The first problem she faced was getting her evidence in the hands of judge directly. Everytime she gives someone the paperwork it magically comes up missing.
When Chasidy was at her last straw she cleared her day to deliver the evidence herself. The judge was surprised to see her that day. She also wasn't aware that she had been trying to get the paperwork to her. So as soon as Chasidy gave them to here she immediately did a background check on the evidence.
Chasidy left the judge's office that day feeling accomplished. Like she was one step closer to her goal. The call she got later that evening made her day. Finally she got the call giving her a date for the next hearing.
Chasidy's pov
These last few days have been eventful to say the least. For starters I encountered some people that are following Hoseok's case. The first two came up to me at the grocery store and they were really nice. But I came across a man that had some very colorful words for me and it took everything in me to keep my composure.
Today is the day before the trial and to say my nerves are bad is an understatement. I've been trying to get in contact with Hoseok's grandmother. I haven't seen her in forever so I hope she didn't forget who I am. She lives around the corner from my childhood home and I decided to take it upon myself to go see her. Knocking on her door with my shaking fist then taking a step back and wait for her to open the door. All my anxiety melted away when I seen her big smile.
"CJ, baby girl where have you been. Come in come in." She says
"Halmeoni it's nice to see you. I've been meaning to come by. Y-you know before everything." I said hinting at the case and a sad smile graced her face before she opened the door wider for me.
We migrated to her living room and I glanced around feeling nostalgic memories popping in my head. Seeing that some of the pictures had me in them warms my heart. I met her when I was ten and tagging along with BJ to meet up with Hobi. She was always so sweet to everybody but she also wasn't afraid to tell anybody about themselves.
"I am really glad you came by. I have some kimchi soup on the stove for dinner if you'd like to join me." She said raising an eyebrow knowing I'd never refused. I love her cooking.
"You know I'd never turn down a meal from you. How you been?
"As of lately getting by. My grandson has been the cause of my greys. But I know he means well." She excused herself to the kitchen and brought back two glasses of lemonade. I thank her as she sat down next to me and accepted the cup with both hands.
"Since his mother and father passed away 2 years ago he has been having a hard time. In more ways than one."
"I'm sorry for your loss halmeoni. They were both wonderful people even though I rarely encountered them they were always nice." I said
"Thank you child. You know even before his parents passed troubled always found him. But I know it is not completely his fault it's just because of who he is." She says but she doesn't elaborate on what she means. It seems like she's being cryptic for some reason.
"He is a sweetheart. Hobi has always been there for me in alot of different ways. If I needed help with my homework or if someone was bothering me. He was always my hero in every story." I glanced into my cup shyly.
I miss when she had a fond smile already reading between the lines. (Anyone could tell your feelings for that man.)
"Are you attending his court date tomorrow?" I asked just curious.
"I don't know if me coming is a good idea CJ." She said wearily.
" It's fine if you decide not to. But I know he'd love to see you there. Im sure everyone else will show up to support him." I said softly.
"Come tomorrow I promise you when we leave the court room Hoseok will be walking with us."
Seeing her gave me the confidence I didn't have. But I will come out victorious by any means necessary.
Hoseok's pov
Last night I didn't sleep. Not because of nerves or anxiousness. I can't explain the relief I feel because this day finally came. Almost 4 months later.
Damn.
I know for a fact that I'm getting out of here though. Chas won't go for anything in this courtroom. Everytime we spoke on the phone she would be exhausted. Always having a phone call meeting or having people flat out ignoring her. But she wasn't standing for bullshit.
Chasidy told me the amount of times she had to show up and make people do their jobs. One thing about me and Chasidy is that we don't play about each other. I don't know when we got so protective over one another. But I do know that we would both tear up the world to see each other smiling.
Going into the courtroom I didn't expect to have anyone but Chasidy.
But I was so wrong. My grandmother sat right behind Chasidy. With her was my sister with my nephew who looked excited to see me. Behind them was BJ, Namjoon, Suga, and Janelise too. I smiled at Chasidy when I made it to her side knowing that this is her doing.
"When this is over we're going on a date baby." I say low enough for only her ears to hear. She blushes and looks at her feet before looking back up.
"About damn time." She smiled.
I know it was about damn time I updated. Lol y'all he finally about to get outta that jam. And why wouldn't he turn up and tf show out. 💜💜💜💜💜👋🏾
Byeeee y'all 🫶🏾
