Guard My Heart

CHAPTER ONE

The alarm clock rang disturbing and waking up Brianna she stretched her hand and press the snooze button, she lazily got off bed and went to the corner of a closet to take her yoga mat she laid it beside the bed and proceeded to her morning yoga it took about 15 minutes after which she took off her clothes and headed for the bathroom she took about 10 minutes and then came out with a towel around her body and another wrapped around her head then she dried her hair and body and proceeded to her closet to choose an outfit, she settled with a black shirt, blue pair of jeans and a black slippers

she took her phone on the side table and placed it in her brown handbag which she placed on the already made bed she done proceeded to tying her hair in a rough bun, after looking in the mirror and being satisfied with her look she took her hand bag and headed for the door she flipped the light switch which was by the door and turning off the lights in the room she then left her apartment and not forgetting to lock the door before leaving in about 25 minutes Brianna was standing in front of a cafe, she got closer and took her phone from her handbag as well as some bunch of keys she looked at her phone to know the time and it said 6:22 a.m. "I'm glad I still have time to clean up and get the place ready" Brianna said to herself with a sigh of relief she then look through the bunch of keys and picked one of them in which she used to unlock the cafe door, she got in and went straight behind the counter to a door she picked another key in the bunch and unlocked it she stepped into the kitchen and then took an apron by the side that was hung on a rack she replace the space with her handbag and then took a broom that was on the other corner she headed back to the dining and started to sweep in about 16 minutes she was done and then went back to the kitchen to take a clean cloth which she proceeded to use to start cleaning the wooden chairs and tables, Brianna was so caught up in her cleaning that she failed to notice that someone had already come into the cafe and was watching her while she was cleaning the person walked a little bit closer still watching Brianna has her back was turned to him "erm Good morning" the person said with a stem but yet relaxing voice "ahh Jesus Christ!!" Brianna said in shock as the clothe slipped from her hands seeing the sudden company, who was quite handsome with his firm jawline that was just perfect for his face, and his height was pleasing, tall enough to fit his muscular appearance that clearly showed in the black suit he was wearing complemented by the Black turtleneck shirt he was wearing in it "sorry for frightening you. miss?"
"Brianna. And it's nothing it's my fault I didn't hear you come in" Brianna said as she finally was able to stop scanning the young man
"I was hoping I could get an espresso"
The man said with one of all those formal smiles that all those business people give you so you agree with what they say.
"That would be nice but we are close and--"
"I know you are close but I need it right this moment I would double the price if you want"
He said as his formal smile died bringing back his stern look
"it's not about the price it's just that that's the store policy I can't sell anything to you while we are still closed"
Brianna said as she got a little scared seeing his expression change
"Miss Brianna I can give you four times the price if you want"
He said this time with his voice dangerously calm
"Hmm, I see you won't be giving up soon, so how many espressos do you want again?"
Brianna said finally giving in
"Just one cup and please don't forget to remove the caffeine"
he said as he put his hands in his pocket unknowingly flexing his arm muscles
"Wait I am not sure I heard you right did you say 'remove the caffeine '"
Brianna said with surprise on her face
"Yes will that be a problem"
The man asked
"Well first of all who drinks espresso without the caffeine, like the caffeine is technically the espresso and lastly you had just be drinking milk"
Brianna said trying to get a reason why anyone would be that weird
"Miss, I am your customer and you are obliged to serve what I want and what I want now is for you to make an espresso the way you would normally do it but without the caffeine"
The man said Sternly
"Okay if you say so"
Brianna said as she retreated to the kitchen. in about 10 minutes she was done and she brought the cup to the man who took it and then gives her $30
"But an expresso is $5"
Brianna said as she looked at the notes in her hands
"Just regard the rest as a tip for your time and going against the store policy"
he said as he gave a calm and nice smile that gave Brianna butterflies as she watched him leave and she also watched him get in the back of a very poshed car that was parked at the other side of the road she watched as it drove away and then decided to continue with her work, from completing the cleaning to going to baking in the kitchen and in no time it was time to open the cafe and within a blink of an eye business started for that day.
