I checked my face in the mirror, letting out a stressed breathe as I leant my weight onto the sink. Did she not speak to Harper anymore or something?
I took a tissue from the dispenser, drying my hands that I had previously washed. I threw it into the bin beside the door and took one last breathe before pulling it open.
I made my way back to the table where Hope was now stood with a notepad and pen, looking around the table and writing things down. To put it simply, she was taking our orders of drinks.
My luck. I inhaled sharply and walked closer to my seat beside Wilbur, silently sitting down.
"What do you want to drink?" His arm remained around the back of my chair as he rested a hand on my shoulder.
"Can I just have a Coke, please?" I spoke to Hope as she nodded, writing it down and turning to Tommy who asked for the same.
"They'll be right out." She informed before going to walk off and stopping herself. "Would it be rude if I asked you something?" She looked me dead in the eye.
I glanced at Wilbur and then looked back to her. "I guess that depends on the question." I chuckled nervously with a fake smile on my face.
"Is Harper okay? I haven't heard from her in months. Mom said she needs to tell me in person." I automatically leaned into Wilbur and I earned confused looks from all around the table.
"I'm sorry, I wouldn't know. I'm not really a friend of hers anymore. I would speak to your mother." I answered politely to which she nodded disappointedly.
"Ok, thank you anyway." She clutched onto her notepad and walked off to the bar. I looked at Wilbur who was already looking down at me.
"We don't have to stay." He rubbed my arm reassuringly to which I shook my head and waved it off.
"No, I can deal with it." I looked to the middle of the table where everyone was looking at me with confused and concerned looks. "Can I take a minute?" I excused myself to which Wilbur stopped me.
"Do you want me to come with or tell them?" He questioned to which I thought for a moment.
"Can you come with me, please?" I replied and he stood up immediately, taking my hand in his and sending everybody an apologetic look. "I'll explain back in Brighton." I assured everyone before leaving to the outside area of the restaurant.
"I can't fucking escape her. Everywhere I go it's like she's haunting me down." I wiped a stray tear from my cheek as Wilbur pulled me into his chest.
"She can't do anything now, darling. You're safe, I promise." He kissed my head, rubbing a reassuring hand up and down my back.
"I'm not even in London, Will. What is wrong with me?" I lightly hit his chest as he just held me tighter. I felt one arm move from around me as he held his hand up.
It wasn't until I looked up I saw what he was doing. He had his phone to his ear, looking down at me with sympathy.
"Hello." He spoke into it after a few seconds. "Yeah, I think you might be a better help than me if I'm completely honest." I could feel him playing with the ends of my hair with his free hand.
"Who is it?" I asked as he held out the phone to me. He gestured to take it so I did, holding it to my ear curiously. "Hello?" I said with a questioning tone.
"What's going on, Kenz?" Madisons familiar voice came through it and I sent a thankful smile to Wilbur who just gave me a nod and smile.
"It's Hope. She works in Amsterdam but had no idea about Harper or Noah." I explained to which she was silent for a moment.
"Are you 100% sure it's Hope?" She questioned me again to which I let out a low breathe before answering.
"Yes. She thought I was you at first. She knows both of our names and asked me about Harper." I informed.
"Have you tried asking for a different waiter?" I looked at the restaurant building, dread filling me more every second.
"No. I don't really want to be that person, Mads. You're usually the one to do that." I laughed quietly at the thought. She must have had the same image as she laughed too.
"Get Wilbur to do it then." She replied as if it was obvious.
"What? No." I replied to which she huffed.
"He's your boyfriend, Kenz, you can ask him for a favour." She stated. I knew she was right, but I'd never admit it.
"I know he's my boyfriend, Mads, but that don't make a difference to me." At my words, Wilbur sent me a curious look which I just waved off.
"Of course it doesn't. Who's else is there?" She changed the topic as I began to list everyone.
"Will, Tommy, Ranboo, Tubbo and Phil." I stated as she was silent for a moment.
"You're close with that Ranboo guy, aren't you?" She asked and I knew what she was about to advise.
"Im not asking Ranboo either." Madison let out a frustrated breathe at my words when I heard Tommys voice from the door.
"They're asking for food orders, guys." He spoke to which I nodded, glancing at Wilbur before turning my attention back to the phone.
"I've got to go, I'll speak to you more later." We both said bye and I hung up the phone, handing it back to Wilbur. "Thank you." I hugged him before making our way back inside.
"I'm just gonna go to the bathroom really quick." Wilbur informed after checking his phone.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked before he was out of reach. He thought for a moment before telling me and we both went our separate ways.
"Where's Wilbur?" Phil asked as I sat down in my seat, Hope at the end of our table once again. Our drinks were placed on the table. I picked mine up, taking a small sip from the glass.
"He went to the bathroom." I told before placing both mine and Wilburs orders. She wrote them down and walked off. Picking up the empty drink tray as she left.
"I'm back." Wilbur appeared by my side moments later. I smiled at him before we all went back to talking as a group. I should have took Madisons advice about a change of waiter.
