"Oh, urm... can I help you?" I asked, cautiously opening the door. I sat down in the drivers seat but didn't start the car.
"I was wondering if we could meet up some time soon?" She requested. My breathe caught in my throat as I glanced over to Wilbur.
"May I ask why?" I questioned, remembering how we both agreed that after the meet up with Noah's parents, everything about the situation would be over.
"I had troubles with Benjamin before, and I think that may be one of the reasons your boyfriend house was set on fire." I let my head hit the back of the chair, closing my eyes for a moment.
I felt Wilbur tap my shoulder, and I turned my head to face him, opening my eyes. 'Everything okay?' He mouthed, and I shook my head.
"I don't feel like that's a good idea. I'm sorry, Jasmine but I'm really trying to move on right now." I replied to her.
"Please. Even if it's next year, I just need to know we can meet up in the future." She pleaded. I took a deep breath.
"Maybe in the future. I've got to go, though. I'm sorry, but thank you for contacting me." I budded a goodbye and hung up the phone.
"Who was that?" Wilbur asked concerned. I looked in the rear view mirror at the others who were listening closely.
"Can I explain later?" I asked, and he took the same glance I did before nodding. "Thanks." I smiled, starting the car. "Where next, Phil?"
"Wilbur already has the directions." I nodded, looking to Wilburs phone that had the directions on it.
I followed them until we were outside of a large building I didn't recognise. I looked out the window and studied it. "Where are we?" I asked.
"You need to go inside." I opened the door, and turned to face the outdoors. When no one else moved, my face turned to worry.
"Why is nobody moving?" I asked and a smirk appeared on everyone's face. "What's going on?" I panicked.
"You need to go inside first. We'll be with you in a minute." I turned to Wilbur who gave me an encouraging nod. I hesitantly stepped out of the car, shutting the door gently behind me.
I walked to the building and opened the glass double doors. I stepped inside to see a young blonde woman stood with a rose in her hand.
"Mackenzie Hudson?" She asked. I looked back at the doors quickly and then back to the woman.
"That's me." I laughed awkwardly. She handed me the rose and I carefully took it. She asked me to follow her, and with so many thoughts running through my mind, I did.
She lead me down the hall into a fairly big room. It had a long mirror with a garment bag hung up on the side.
"If you would like to change into that and join me back out here when you're done." She requested. I studied the garment bag.
"What is it? Will it fit?" I questioned nervously. She laughed gently, offering me a sweet smile.
"Yes it will fit, don't worry." I nodded, pretending not to notice how she didn't tell me what was in it. She walked out, shutting the door behind her.
I took a deep breath, placing my phone on the small table by the door and walking slowly up to the garment bag.
My hand paused as I gripped onto the zip. I closed my eyes, unzipping the bag. When I felt it was fully unzipped, I exhaled quietly and opened my eyes.
My eyes widened at the beautiful teal dress. It had a corset top, and a sparkly a-line skirt. What had they planned? At the bottom of the mirror was a pair of sparkly black heels.
I sprung into action when I realised the woman was waiting for me outside. With a little bit of struggle, I got changed. I had managed the zip on my own, and then opened the door.
She looked at me with a smile. "Ready?" She asked and I hesitated, not really having an answer, but I gave her one anyway.
"I think so." I smiled, and she lead me into a huge hall, decorated with fairy lights, and a fancy meal for a rather large group set up on the other side of the room.
I was speechless. "Do you like it?" Wilburs voice echoed in the room, and all of a sudden the woman was gone. My head shot in his direction, my breath picking up it's paste.
"You- I-" I didn't know what to say. Wilbur was dressed in a black suit with a white shirt. What stood out to me, though was the fact that his tie was teal. We matched.
He laughed quietly and strode towards me. "How did you do this? I mean... you didn't even know I would be here until I was actually here." I reminded. He nodded.
"Yeah, I had a lot of help from George and Madison. Some others as well." He told and I went speechless again. "The dress was all Madison. She was so excited when I told her." He looked around the room.
"I can't believe this." I sighed as he was now stood directly in front of me. My hand came to rest over my mouth as the screams of excitement built up in me.
"Yeah, neither can I. Dress shopping without you? It was torture." A familiar voice came from the entrance of the room.
Madison stood by the doors. She wore a sleeveless, baby pink, mermaid tail dress. She looked gorgeous. "Madison, oh my gosh!" She made her way over, and as soon as she was close enough, I embraced her in a hug.
When she let go, I turned to Wilbur with the biggest smile on my face. "Thank you so much. This is more than I could ever ask for." Tears began to pool up in my eyes.
"Kenz?" Madison spoke, and I turned to her. She held out a small black box with a gold bow stuck on top. It took me a minute to remember what it was.
"Yes. Yes. Thank you." I took it off her. I turned to face Wilbur with the same smile. "This is nowhere near as good as what you've done for me lately, Will, but I really hope you like it." I passed it to him.
He looked at me cautiously and opened it. Inside was the watch I had asked Madison to pick up earlier in the trip. He looked shocked as he froze.
"Kenzie, I love it." He examined the watch, a grateful and excited look on his face. I smiled as he embraced me in a tight hug. "Thank you."
"You don't have to thank me." I replied, taking in this whole situation.
