3rd P.O.V.

Nancy shoved her hand through the portal and Jonathan pulled her out not without a struggle, her slimy body landing on him with force. He held his arms around her as she clutched onto his jacket shaking and crying. They gathered their wits and went to Nancy's house. She took a shower rinsing the dirt and grime from her body. she stepped into her room shutting the door. She noticed the necklace hanging from her jacket pocket and walked over pulling it out. Jonathan knew that necklace from anywhere.

"Is that?" He pointed at the necklace and she nodded running her thumb over the crescent moon in her fingertips.

"Yeah, it's Carter's." She confirmed and Jonathan's eyes welled with tears at the thought of her being really gone.

"Is she...?" He asked and Nancy shook her head moving to pull her blankets back sitting on her bed.

"She's alive. She saved me from that thing." Nancy spoke and Jonathan felt relief fill his bones.

"And Will?" He asked.

"I asked her to come with me, but she said she wouldn't leave Will." Nancy replied as Jonathan laid on the sleeping bag at the end of her bed.

"Could you-could you come up here?" She asked and he hesitated before climbing into bed next to her. Jonathan fell asleep not long after keeping the lights on.

The next morning Jonathan woke up seeing Nancy had textbooks spread across her bed.

"Oh, hey." Jonathan greeted.

"Hey." She responded not looking up from the books.

"Couldn't sleep?"

"Every time I close my eyes I just...keep seeing that thing. Where ever Carter and I were, that place, I think it lives there."

"It was feeding there. On that deer. That means Will, Carter, and Barbara." She sighed thinking of all the possibilities.

"Hey, my mom said she talked to Will and Carter. If Carter is keeping Will alive then that means there's a chance Barbara is too." Jonathan assured.

"But that means that their trapped. In that place. We have to find it again." Nancy's firm voice showing her determination.

"You wanna go back out there." Jonathan stated.

"Maybe we don't have to." She shook her head looking at the books around her lap.

"When I saw it, it was feeding on that deer," She started. "That means it's a predator, right?"

"Right." He agreed.

"And it seems to hunt at night like, a lion, or a coyote. But it doesn't hunt in packs like them. It's always alone like, like a bear. And, remember at Steve's? When Barbara cut herself? And then, last night, with the deer." She explained.

"It was bleeding too." Jonathan caught on as she pulled a textbook up to show him.

"Sharks can detect blood in one part per million and they can smell it from a quarter mile away."

"So your saying it can detect blood." He looked at her and she shrugged.

"It's just a theory."

"We could test it, but if it works-" Nancy cut him off.

"We'll know it's coming." Nancy cut him off and they both nodded at each other.

Carter's P.O.V.

I was huffing and puffing as I reached Fort Byers, stretching my arms forwards to help my exhausted muscles not be so stiff. I did our secret knock and I heard a cough.
