Chapter 121: Even When Youre Working in the Study Room, No Good Thought Comes to Mind.

I remember it clearly when Jungkook was seven years old and it was almost New Years. She rarely brings Jungkook out to the mall to shop for new clothes, its always been me. She had never done that before and Jungkook was ecstatic. That small child had never given up on getting his mothers love, even if its just a little bit it was great. But, do you know what happened? She brought him to the mall and while Jungkook was changing his clothes in the fitting room, she received a call. We already guessed what had happened, she probably got a call from Markus and when she went out to receive the call, we dont know what news she received. She was actually so dazed that she left Jungkook inside the mall and forgotten about him.

When Jungkook finished changing his clothes and went out, he was so elated in showing her whether or not he looked good in them. But, he couldnt find her. The shopkeeper told him that his mother went out to receive a call, Jungkook then waited patiently in the shop. Right until it was closing time for the mall, Jiang Cara didnt return. Jungkook then went back inside the fitting room as he cried to change his clothes back, he was wearing it the whole time as he waited for Jiang Cara to return and look at them.

On that day Jungkooks dad was working late, when he returned at night he noticed that his son wasnt at home, nor was she. He thought that Jungkook was with us at our house and gave us a call, and found out Jungkook hadnt returned. That was when we got anxious and quickly went out looking for him. He was a small child, it was almost New Years and the malls were filled with people. If he If he met a kidnapper, what wouldve happened? Jungkook was lucky as he hadnt met one. If he had the consequences wouldve been unimaginable. At the time I was just- Old Lady Jeon was choked with emotions, Just hoping those two would get a divorce! Marrying that type of woman, it was the devils work!

As Old Lady Jeon spoke, tears rolled down her face.

Aunt Chen then brought Sunghoon into the bedroom to sleep, these kind of talks were bad for a child to listen to after all.

Ae-Cha sat beside Old Lady Jeon, she silently reached out a tissue for her.

Old Lady Jeon wiped her tears and blew her nose then continued, The shopkeeper took pity on him and brought him to the police station. The police station then contacted us, only then our hearts were at ease. When Jungkook saw us, he immediately started crying and he was practically wailing. Before that, even when he was upset at something, Ive never seen him cry so loud, he was so terrified. For a few days after that incident, he had nightmares. He called out for his father, mother, and his grandparents, shouting for them to not leave him behind and said he wanted to go home.

It was hard for me to imagine, such a small child all alone in a mall. Looking at people going in and out, but none were his mother coming to get him home. Up until the mall was empty, there was still no one coming to get him. Imagine how scared he was. Old Lady Jeon cried as she spoke, After that incident, Jungkook gave up on Jiang Cara. He no longer sought her attention.

Due to his young age, he still carried bits of hope in his heart. But Jiang Cara was distant towards him, she always carried this look as if she doesnt care about him and was nonchalant towards him. He then no longer had an excessive expectation. When he grew up, his heart completely gave up as well. Hed still address her as mom when he met her, but other than that he wont say anything else. Hed no longer attempt to gain her attention as well. Before Beichang was seven, hed still ask us whether or not his mother likes him. Whether or not he wasnt doing good enough for her? If he tried harder, would his mother like him a little bit more?
