chapter eight

assurance.

taeyong didn’t want to assume because first of all, why would he assume when jaehyun completely doesn't have any feelings for him?

but whenever selena popped out of nowhere when jaehyun and taeyong were together, the younger one made sure that taeyong would never feel left out.

and give him an assurance that he didn’t care about selena anymore and he had already moved on.

"hello, ruby!"

the dog immediately left her father just to go to taeyong, the older one giggled when the dog happily greets him. her tail was wiggling nonstop.

"so, ruby is the only reason why you visit my room?" jaehyun asked, raising his eyebrow.

"nah, you just can't accept the truth that ruby likes me more now." taeyong said and carried the dog.

"yeah, i think i should ban you in my room now." jaehyun said and stood up from his bed to close his windows.

"why are your windows still open? it's already late though, what if there's someone suddenly entering through your window?" taeyong asked.

"what if someone was standing—"

"don't you fucking dare." taeyong immediately cuts him off.

jaehyun let out a laugh and just shut his mouth. it was already late and the weather was not that good. it was already announced earlier that thunderstorms are expected tonight.

it's already a month has passed, taeyong is now comfortable with his surroundings. he found a new comfort whenever his fears came and that was ruby. whenever there are thunderstorms, he usually stays overnight at jaehyun's room.

or maybe ruby is just his excuse, he knew that jaehyun was his new comfort. that guy literally made him calm down and distracted him whenever the thunderstorms came.

which also made taeyong fall for him more.

"jae, can i just move here?" taeyong said as he played with ruby, he was sitting on the floor which jaehyun had already told him not because the floor is cold.

"move to the bed, yong, please?" jaehyun said.

"because i feel like i always disturb ten and johnny, those two literally making out in front of me." he complained as he moved to jaehyun's bed, carrying ruby.

"no, you can't." jaehyun said.

"tss," he hissed and rolled his eyes.

"but i will let you sleep here anytime you want,"

a smile flashed on his face and let out a giggle, he laid down the bed and put ruby beside him. he was not trembling anymore as long as jaehyun was there and ruby was on his side.

that sounds new but taeyong really found comfort when jaehyun was around.

"do you want to go fishing?"

taeyong just woke up, he was even staring out of nowhere. jaehyun was now fixing the food on his table inside his room. a food that he really brought here.

"why do you always bring food here? we can just even join them in dining." taeyong said as he took a seat.

"i just want to," jaehyun said. "they were so loud, i hate it."
