Dani's Pov ☀︎

"Did you see this?" Steve asked the two as they walked in pointing up to the small tv screen.

"How many phones do you have?" Dustin asked looking at all of us with a sense of urgency.

"Someone was murder," Steve replied back after he heard the news from Robin turning the tv on.

"How many phones do you have?" Dustin asked us again putting more stress on his words.

"Two, why?" Steve questioned the two of them before Robin chimes in correcting him.

"Three technically, if you count Keith's," Robin told the two as I just stood there leaning back on the counter.

"Yeah, three works!" Max says looking over at Dustin. Truly the most confusing duo and even more confusing for what they need phones for. Then suddenly Dustin throws backpack across the table.

"What are you doing?" I asked as it slide across on to the ground, jumping slightly as it fell onto all three of us. Dustin then jumped over the table in a ninja like style, knocking over the tapes that Steve had worked so hard on.

"What are you doing, man?" Steve yelled in destress as Dustin had jumped onto the computer to look something up.

"Setting up base of operations," he replied as if it was crystal clear what this all meant.

"What are you even talking about?" I asked him as I helped Robin pick up the dropped things. He then explained that he needed to call Eddie's friends, which caused Steve to get extremely pissy at the Dustin's new found best friend. Dustin continued to explain his reasons for searching up Eddies friends, which was him trying to figure out where he had gone. No one had seen him since school last Friday, which was the day before Chrissy was found in his trailer. I know that I shouldn't say something like this, but it could actually have been him. I don't want to sound pessimistic or anything it's just, I don't know, people can just be so fucking cruel. Which I guess I never saw until now. Before the whole thing, I thought everything was good, life was good. Now it just seems everything that was just bright is now dark and gloomy.

While I had been zoned out everyone had grabbed phones and I hadn't noticed until a phone was dropped in front of me. "Call the people on the list...their numbers are below them," Dustin told me while handing a piece of paper over.

"Ok," was all I responded with before starting to type in the numbers listed. I asked all the questions that had come to my mind of Eddies whereabouts, but all said they didn't know where he could be, so there was just several lines of red ink across the page. "Nothing over here!" I said to the group before turning around. Everyone was still on the phone expect for Max, I could tell somethings had been going on with her recently. We usually keep in touch quite often talking in the hallways and sometimes I would come over to help her with homework, but now she wasn't talking to anyone. At first I thought maybe I had said something the last time we had talked that didn't make her happy, or that maybe something had happened and she's just scared to talk about it. I know the whole thing that happened with her brother, which is a touchy subject all together. Things just seemed different recently and I couldn't really put my finger on it.

"Nothing!" Dustin exclaimed leaning back. It seemed we had gone through every person, until Robin turned around to tell us that she had a lead. She had wrote down the address and we all headed out. We all gathered into Steve's car Robin in the front with Max, and Dustin with me in the middle seats. The car ride was Dustin going on and on about everything ever as we all just sat there agreeing on whatever he said.

The sun set and soon enough it was down and there was no light from the sky. As we turned a sharp corner we realized this was the place of the address, so Steve quickly pulled in and we all jumped out with flashlights looking around the place.

"It doesn't look like anyone's been here in decades" I breathed out trying to look through in the windows but there was nothing. We were all looking cluelessly until some noticed the boat house, so we all ran that way. Robin was the one to open the door as Steve stood behind her and me behind him.

Once we were all in I stayed close behind Robin with my flashlight going everywhere my eyes looked. "God it really smells," I told Robin in a whisper which she just let out a small laugh to.

As Steve looked around I saw him grab an oar and start poking at things. Dustin and him started another one of their bickers as Robin, Max, and I looked at the trash that had been left behind. "Maybe he heard us and thought it was someone else?" I questioned picking up a piece of the crumbled trash.

Steve was still using his oar when we all turned around to look at him and Dustin and once he stopped something quickly came up from the tart scaring the hell out of me. "Holy shit!" I practically yelled as I grabbed Robins arm. "Sorry," I laughed letting go as my heart beat started to slow down to its normal beat.

While Eddie was still chasing Steve to a corner Dustin was yelling at him, so we all went to Dustin's side to get him to stop. We all sat there in shock when he pulled out a pocket knife putting it to Steve's neck causing Dustin to yell even more. Dustin told him the reason we were here before introducing use.

"You know Robin, from band," he said pointing to her as she imitated an instrument, "and Dani, she's on the cheer team," he then pointed to me which I just smiled and gave a small wave.

"How do you know she's not with the basketball players who are out trying to murder me?" Eddie questioned me with a dead look on his face.

"Why the hell would I come with witnesses if I was gonna hurt you?" I asked him back cocking my head to the side.

Dustin introduced the rest before telling him, "Eddie, we're on your side! I swear on my mother!" he made sure to say it in an affirming tone.

"Mhm Dustin's mother," we all said the same thing to some degree. That was when he put the knife down and Steve was set free. He immediately went to the table that was close to him leaning his weight on it.

"You ok?" I asked standing beside Robin who was also checking on him.

"Yeah, yeah. I mean almost got my neck sliced, but yeah I'm doing great," he nodded in a sarcastic way, which told me he probably wanted space. So I went and stood with Max leaving him and Robin together.
