"Amani why aren't you eating" I asked my daughter concerned
"I'm not hungry mommy" she said making me suck my teeth
I gave her the 'I will talk to you later' look and focused on Kaïr.
After dinner we watched a movie together until Kaïr fell asleep. I lifted him upstairs and placed him gently on his bed.
I walk back downstairs and see Amani sitting ready for our talk.
"Mani what's going on with you" I asked softly knowing mani is really emotional
"Why did daddy leave us" she asked bluntly
I was taken aback by the question but still proceeded to give a answer
"Amani one thing you should know is that your dad didn't leave, he loved us , you very much and he is proud of the big girl you are. When you look outside at night you see millions of stars the biggest star you see is your daddy" I told her
"But mommy my friend Daniella told me that if you don't have a mommy or daddy you will get a new one, is that true?" I nodded no and took a deep breath before talking again.
"No mani I won't give you a new dad because nobody can replace your daddy" she nodded and hugged me
I watched her walk upstairs to go sleep before I sighed. I grabbed my phone I called Xavier.
