IRL

a small groan left her lips as she stretched her neck. she closed her eyes but could still see her google doc with the various lyrics messily typed.  she had spent the entire night working on the lyrics, going through various drafts in order to ease her anxiety — this was her first album and it needed to be perfect.

( y/n ) regretted staying up so late as she had work in the morning; she could choose whatever hours she wanted to work, but she soon found out that it wasn't as hyped as it lived up to be;  she would constantly be busy during the few hours she worked and instead chose to have set hours and work more days.

it hadn't been too busy in the morning, not that it usually was during this time of the year.  winter was on it's way, but the fall still had a while to go.  people were working during the morning, and in the afternoon they would get quick apology or greeting bouquets to whatever lunch date they had.  it was a nice cycle.

the small bell above the door rang, a familiar face entering the small store.

"you're back?" ( y/n ) asked, her posture straightening. "for your mom?"

he shook his head, glancing up at the flower menu above them. "my friend's sick. i see flowers in hospitals a lot."

"they don't," she started, furrowing her eyebrows as she stifled a chuckle. he didn't actually think that flowers heal people, did he? "what flowers were we thinking?"

"what do you recommend?"

( y/n ) stared at the menu deep in thought, mentally piecing together a bouquet with the limited knowledge she had. "daisy, pansy, sunflower..." she muttered to herself, running through the different combinations. "how about daisies, sunflowers, asters, chrysanthemums, and yarrows as a filler?"

"uh, sure" he agreed, "yeah that works."

she smiled at him, ringing him up for the bouquet. it wasn't often that she got to pick out flowers for an ill person, not that she was glad his friend was sick. "changbin, right?" he nodded and ( y/n ) proceeded with the order. "i'll shoot a message when it's done. should be 30-ish minutes."

changbin thanked her, waving goodbye as he left to go waste time. with how much free time she had that morning, everything was already prepped so the only thing she had to do was arrange the flowers and tie them together—easy.

as she absentmindedly worked on the bouquet, her mind wandered back to 3racha. they had annoyingly forced their way into the back of her mind, filling every corner with their messages and songs — she had yet to actually listen to a song of theirs, but she had heard clips from their instagram. ( y/n ) knew they were fans of her work as they had been following her for quite a while — she scrolled through her posts and found a few comments from them from a couple years ago — but she didn't know why they were so adamant on a collab.

"you like lychee, right?"

( y/n ) hummed and glanced up, seeing changbin standing with another bottle of lychee milk.  she didn't know she liked the drink from the first time he brought it.

"i forgot to ask last time, but i assumed you did."

she smiled warmly at him, finishing the tie on the bouquet before bringing it to the counter. he was definitely one of her favorite customers and although she felt bad that he was spending money on her, she hoped it wasn't going to be a discontinued habit.

"it'll be 45,000 won even."  she traded the bouquet for the lychee drink, her album popping into mind.  "what kind of music do you listen to?"

changbin thought for a second, unsure if this was a cheap flirting tactic.  "i listen to rap a lot."

( y/n ) hummed, taking his words into consideration.  she had never done a rap song before — it was the one genre she stayed away from due to the hypercritical fanbases.  youngsoo encouraged her a lot to dabble into the genre, but it never occurred to her that she needed to do it in order to prove she had a wide variety of genres under her belt.  at least until now.

"thank you for the lychee," she thanked, grabbing her phone to message 3racha while changbin gathered his things.  they were largely a rap group, so they surely knew some pointers on how to create a rap song.  youngsoo was already busy with his judo studio and creating another track for his fans — they were deeply deprived since ( y/n ) stole most of his talent for her own album. she sent the message and almost immediately changbin's phone went off.  weird.

"i'll probably be back soon for flowers for my mom."  changbin waved, replying back to the message he was sent.

ding!

( y/n )'s phone went off and the two glanced suspiciously at each other.  the mood dissipated when he got a phone call, leaving the store to talk to who she presumed was his sick friend.

"is he 3racha?"  she asked herself, staring at the door.  she slapped the back of her head, turning to clean up her mess.  "no.  just an odd coincidence."
