The man, Barry had heard his name was Hal, was consumed by the green light for a second. The next, he was wearing a full green body suit; a strange symbol adorned the chest area. Oliver looked to Barry, like his friend had the answer to whatever impossible thing was happening. But Barry had no answer; all he knew was that Iris had someone new to write about for her vlogs, not just The Flash.
Hal looked like he was freaking out, indeed he was, but it got worse when he tried to run from the site, he ended up being launched into the air. Both Oliver and Barry's eyes widened, they did just witeness a guy find an alien, a ring float onto his finger and his clothes changing to a green body suit before he flew away. Oliver stood up, covering his nose momentarily from the shock of burning metal filling his nostrils.
"What the hell?" He reinterated what the person at the pier had said. This situation wasn't seen everyday.
"Should we go back to S.T.A.R. Labs?" Barry asked, slowly standing to his feet. Oliver bit into the inside of his cheek; if S.T.A.R. Labs didn't know about the crash, then he and Barry wouldn't have to worry until they discovered it.
"If they don't know about it, then we won't worry about it." Oliver turned to Barry, a tight lipped smile (the one Barry liked, and Oliver wasn't shy it) graced his face. "So let's not."
Barry rushed the pair off to where he knew Oliver was staying. The hotel's upper appartments were solely booked up for Oliver's residence; and Barry felt extremely out of place when the double doors opened up and revealed the scale and size of the first room. It was bigger than the kitchen, living and dining room at Joe's house altogether. It was the central hub for the appartments, two bedrooms led off from this room, and a huge kitchen with an open dining area took up the room on the right side. Oliver shrugged off the jacket he was wearing, as Barry nearly drooled over hthe grandeur of the space. He was scared to touch anything, in fear something would break and he would be in debt for the rest of his life trying to pay for a quarter of what the object was worth.
Oliver had left the room, unbeknownst to Barry, and reappeared shortly with two bowls of ice cream. Barry laughed to himself when he saw it; Oliver must have an obsession with the treat! The two ate in silence by the fireplace in the room, save for when Barry had coughed at the coldness being too much at one point.
The silence broke when Oliver's phone chimed, a sing Barry didn't recongise as Oliver appologised but took the call anyway.
"What do you want, Speedy?" Oliver closed the door to the bedroom behind him. His sister huffed on the other end of the phone line.
"Just wanted to find out where you were, Jerk! You left without saying goodbye." A bad habit of his. "I just need to know you're okay."
"I'm fine, Thea." He paused for a beat, adding, "I'm just hanging out with Barry."
"And I wasn't invited!" She stated, sincerely wondering why she wasn't allowed to go to Central City. "You better fill me in on every tiny detail when you get back home."
"I will be home in a couple of days, I promise."
"Okay, just give Barry a kiss from me and Felicity. Especially from me." Oliver struggled to not laugh. His younger sister would switch from being serious and acting her age, to being a teenage brat, then reverting back to his kind hearted baby sister in every way. He loved her no matter what.
"The only kiss will be just from me, bye Thea." Oliver hung up in the middle of Thea starting to string curse words together, and he was sure Barry heard all of it.
"What is it with you and ice cream?" Barry asked when Oliver sat beside him. Oliver grumbled something that Barry couldn't understand, and was just shrugged off. There was a light pink hue to Oliver's neck that Barry liked.
"I think my sister misses you." Oliver said suddenly; Barry's head tilted up and to the side. His blue eyes were narrowed, with a smirk on his face.
"Really?" He inquired slowly.
"Yeah," Oliver leaned over to Barry, pressing his lips to his cheek softly. "That was from Thea and Felicity."
"If that was from them, then I want to see what would be from you." Barry's red face could easily be blamed from the fire if anyone were to walk into the room at that moment. But Oliver knew better; and he liked it.
They talked through the night, well into the early hours into the morning. Barry confessed he actually didn't mind their kisses, and Oliver said he preferred Barry over anyone else; that his sister knew too despite going after the speedster.
It led to Oliver sitting closer to Barry; and then walking with their upper arms bumping against the other. The tip of Barry's index finger touched that of Oliver's as they strode around the central park on the city. The streets of Central City had been unusually quiet for the usually bustling city, and the park resonated the point with only about a dozen people scattered around.
"So how much do you use your speed on a daily basis?" Oliver quieried. Barry opened his mouth to speak, but was silenced when he and Oliver had been barged into from behind.
"Sorry!" The man had called from behind his shoulder, glancing back as he ran along the grass. Barry recognised him as the one who the ring had floated to the night before,
Theworst thing was that he wasn't looking at who was around him. His white t shirt, brown leather jacket, blue jeans and white joggers (trainers) had changed into that green suit in an instant. Hal floated up into the air, turning around halfway to stare down whatever was behind him. People began screaming, running frantically in different directions; Barry would have followed suit, if he hadn't run to S.T.A.R. Labs to allow he and Oliver to change into their hero attries.
"Better go kick this giant gorillas' ass." Barry quipped.
A.N. Second time writing the ending, good thing I remebered everything. So this is one of my most popular stories, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who have been reading this, whether you like it or not. I have wanted to do something very special for you guys on fanfiction.net, since it's my five year anniversary later on this year, so I might do a story where I do a certain number of chapters for it, with one main idea incorpperated into each chapter. The story length (in terms of chapters) and ideas will be made by you. I'll sort it out more tomorrow on my Twitter. I hope you all enjoy this, love you all.
