Elliana

It's been a couple weeks since Bella has crawled out of her hole and is now spending every minute she can with Jacob. But still, the nights are filled with her screams.
It's also been a few weeks since Embry Call got sick, mono he says. Then he disappeared and reappeared, hair cut and a tattoo on his right shoulder. He's stopped communicating with everyone, at least that's what Jake and Quil have told me. I've tried calling, texting, hell, I even went to his house. His mom said he only returns late at night if at all. This isn't like him, but Jake says he is now in Sam Uley's cult. I try not to judge, I'm just an outsider looking in and Sam helped find Bella, which helped my father stop worrying and for that, I am grateful. So I just let Jake and Quil speak their peace and then change the subject.
I'm currently cleaning off tables in the diner, our lunch rush has just past. I hear the new bell we've added to the door ring, alerting us that we have new customers. It's only me and Jenna, a new waitress, and the cook today, everyone else is out sick. I look towards Jenna and see that's she's sweeping, so I put my tag up and grab three menus and walk to the table. Once I reach the three tanned men, I freeze, recognizing one. I quickly shake out of my shock and continue towards them.
"Hello, my name is Elliana and I'll be your server today." I say, handing each of them a menu, not looking at Embry, I'm still hurt from him ignoring me. Fifteen years of friendship down the drain. "What can I get you three to drink?"
"Coke." The most muscular of the three says.
"Dr. Pepper." The second one says.
"Sweet Tea." Embry orders looking down at the table.
"Coming right up." I quickly speak, walking away to make the drinks.
"What's wrong?" Jenna asks me as she hands me three cups of ice.
"Nothing, why?" I ask her.
"You're tense. Have been since they walked in." She tells me and I sigh.
"No reason." Once I'm done with their drinks I leave Jenna before she can ask me anymore questions. "Alright, here are your drinks." I set down each drink in front of the respective owner and lay down three straws. "What can I get you to eat?"
"We'll each get the triple cheese burger with everything and three orders of loaded fries." Embry says and I look at him, locking eyes with him. I've always loved his eyes but now, I finally notice the flecks of green in them. The longer we keep eye contact, the more it feels my body is in fire. I take a deep breath and mutter a,
"Coming right up," before walking away.
"Dude!" The muscular man belts out laughing causing me to jump and look at them. The fist thing I notice his Embry's eyes on me, not wavering even after I catch him.
"And on a Swan no less." Chuckles the other man. What does he mean by that?
I write their orders on the ticket, hand it to Cook, and step outside to get some air. The fire is still raging, like electricity is flowing through my veins. What the hell just happened?
