"What the fuck- OH MY ALARMS." I said once I realized. I'm either going to be really late, or really early. That's how it goes every time this happens and there is no in between.


Knowing what the outcome could be I got out of bed and checked the time: "5:00am" Surprisingly I'm up earlier than usual. I wonder why?

...

...

"OH. Sanders should be coming in to get coffee!" I said with enthusiasm. Just then I notice a note on my night stand that reads:

"I had to go home. You seemed cold so I grabbed an extra blanket for you, but here's my number for when you wake up. (xxx)-xxx-xxxx"

I should probably start getting ready. Knowing me I'll end up sitting in the shower for an hour doing nothing. And that is exactly what I did. After I noticed how long I've been in here I quickly got out and put my uniform on. I don't really wear make up so I just brush my hair, wash my face and put on deodorant. "6:30am" I still have 30 minutes until I have to leave. I decide to find a short workout to do. I don't eat breakfast so I might as well do something else productive.

It felt like a few minutes, but 30 minutes later I'm heading out of the door and onto the sidewalk. The coffee shop is only about a block from my dorm so it doesn't take much time to get there.

"How do you always get here so early walking everyday?" my coworker asks as I walk in the door.

"I don't know, I'm just a fast walker." I respond with a shrug. He doesn't need to know where I live. He's nice, but I don't want just anyone knowing where I live. Ironic right?

"Well you my offer to drive you still stands." He says for the thousandth time. Instead of speaking I just nod in acknowledgment and go to put my stuff in my locker. Then I come back up front to help him open. Tucker is a normal dude, pretty harmless. He just cannot read a room to save his life. He was very sheltered as a kid. His mom is one of those moms that are lowkey in love with their sons. Absolutely bonkers. And Tucker has no clue whatsoever that his mom is the way she is. He will either find out when his mother is degrading his girlfriend, or he will remain clueless and single his entire life. Poor thing. Just then I hear the door open and close. Hm, people don't usually start coming in until 8?

"Good morning Y/N! How did you sleep last night?" Sanders said as he walked towards the counter. I fully look up at him and about trip over myself. His hair is still wet and in his face a bit, he's in sweatpants and a t-shirt. He looks so cute right now oh my god. I should answer him, it's kind of weird to just stare at somebody.

"Good morning! I slept well how about you?" I responded. Hell yeah, good save. He seems to not have noticed I short circuited a bit.

"I slept good. Am I here too early or do you have everything set up?" He's so considerate. If it was anyone else they probably would have just ordered.

"Yeah we have everything ready. What would you like?" I said. I hope it's something easy.

"Just a light roast with a little cream please." He said. Well damn that's easy.

"Of course. You can sit down anywhere and I'll bring it to you." I told him. He smiled and went to find a table while I went to make his drink. It takes no time at all since we prepare our roasts a few minutes a before we open. I go take him his drink and then I'm right back up to the front because a group of college girls just walked in. Today is going to be a long day isn't it?

My shift is almost over and I am so tired. The only thing keeping me going right now is the fact that I get a free meal after this. Time to count down while I close. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, FOOD. Time to sprint. And when I say time to sprint I mean I got there in a fourth of the time it would usually take.

"How in the world did you get here so fast?" He asked me surprised.

"That's because I'm a genie!" I said.

"..."

"..."

"Yeah I'm going to go get your food now." He said as he walked backwards then turned around to go to the back. Yeah that wasn't the smartest thing to say. (someone please get the A Slap on Titan reference)

"I brought you the same thing as last time, but I put the gravy on the potatoes because I noticed you liked it last time" He said as he set down my food. This time I immediately went for the potatoes. I just really wanted to feel the texture of it. It's thick enough to not be a liquid, but I don't have to chew it. Maybe I'm just lazy.

"Thank you" I said. I should slow down before I choke.

"So how was your day?" He asked me.

"It was good. Just busy and long. What about you?" Just busy and long is an understatement. Today felt like time was stopped every few minutes but nobody else did. Just the time.

"It was pretty normal. The night shift is usually pretty slow." I wish the night part of my shift was slow. That's when all the college kids who are studying come in to get a little pick me up.

We remain quiet while I eat the rest of my food. It's not an uncomfortable quiet. Just the two of us sitting here enjoying each others presence. If only it could stay this way...
