15. Midorima

"Hey Midorima!"

Midorima walked in cafe as Y/N invited him. He saw all his teammates and Y/N sitting at the big table.

"Come here and sit down. We saved you a spot just in case you showed up."

Y/N was beyond excited when she saw Midorima walk in the cafe door. Her mood almost fell down, thinking that Midorima won't arrive.

"Mr. Perfect late? What's this?"

Aomine joked while filling his stomach with food. If Midorima didn't know him he would think that Aomine hasn't eaten in years.

"I'm not the only one late. Where Akashi?"

Y/N's eyes feel down to her lap, playing with her fingers.

"Hey man! You know Akashi doesn't attend these type of gatherings. Why even bring him up, just ruined Y/N's mood."

Kise looked dead at Midorima. Suddenly his eyes switched to Y/N. Her head lowered down, as Kuroko was patting her back.

"Anyways! How are the new teammates? Are they treating you well?"

Suddenly Y/N's eyes lighted up and smile came across her lips. Kise was relieved to see her smile again.

"They are very nice to me. I was worried at first, but I was worried for nothing."

Whatever Y/N just said, whatever how big her smile was, Midorima knew her words weren't meaningful. Something was off, she still played with her fingers, like she was nervous.

"Did you already practiced today?"

"A little bit. Nothing serious."

"Why are you trying to hide something from us?"

Midorima suddenly popped a question what made all of them look at him with questionable looks.

"Haha what do you mean Midorima?"

Y/N just laughed, suddenly her arms were on the table, grabbing snacks and just stuffing her mouth full.

Midorima decided to just drop the subject. Even if she was hiding something, who is he to question it.

"Hey Midorima! Where were you?"

"Outside."

Midorima teammates just watched him go in his room. Whenever he was it wasn't really their business. They know better to just leave Midorima alone. Especially now he sounded even more pissed than ever. They all looked at Takao who was out of breath, entering the room.

"Where were you both?"

Takao took a deep breath before speaking up.

"We went to watch volleyball game. Not like he invited me to accompany him. So I just followed. He was watching his old friend play a volleyball game and for some reason he got really mad and made me drive him here on that damn bike, I thought I will die and its so hot outside."

There was dead silence after that. Team didn't understand a thing he said. Takao said his story at max speed, so eventually they didn't even asked him to tell that second time.
