Chapter #3 The Mission

"How degrading!" Kurama growled as Naruto struggled to keep a squirming murderous feline in his hands without the monster scratching his face off.

'This can't possibly be what the Fourth had in mind when he chose me to be the Jinchuriki.'

"DON'T SPEAK OF THAT MONGREL!"

'Sorry!'

Naruto zoned back into reality as Sasuke was confirming the Demonic Cat's identity.

"Mission complete!" Kakashi said as Team 7 walked into the Hokage's office. "Good, let's see here. Gardening, Babysitting, Ma-"

"No! No, no, no! No more stupid chores! I didn't work hard to become a Genin for you to have me do the chores that people are too lazy to do themselves. I want a real mission! Something worth my time and skill!"

"Naruto, you're still a rookie, you don't have the proper knowledge and experience for a real mission."

"And I'm never going to if you never give me a chance to obtain it." Naruto retorted.

"Hm, very well. I'll give you a C-Rank. There's this person that needs escorting back to his home village." The door opened and in came a drunk old man.

"Wha? What's this? I thought I paid for a Ninja squad, not children!" Tazuna was sure that the grown man would be powerful enough to get him home protected, but these three children...

As the old man looked at each of them he found problems with them. The pinkette looked weak. The ravenette looked arrogant and prideful. And the blond-

Tazuna recoiled in surprise. The blond- whose eyes were blue moments prior was now red with black feline slits- was looking at him sadistically, as if he challenged him to find a problem with him. Tazuna felt this powerful presence coming from the blond, almost as if it was pure power itself.

Then all of the sudden, it was gone. His eyes went back to their vibrant blue, he was no longer giving off a powerful presence, and his sadistic look was gone.

'What the hell was that?' Tazuna thought as he sobered up.

Kakashi stepped forward, successfully obtaining Tazuna's attention. "I'm Hatake Kakashi, I'm a Jonin, so you'll be perfectly safe."

It was silent for the next couple of hours as the group walked.

But it was finally interrupted by Kurama when Naruto passed a puddle.

"Hey! Get ready for an attack!"

'Huh?"

"The ground is far too dry for there to be a puddle like that, it's a disguise of some kind, a water Jutsu if I were to guess. Now get ready to attack."

Just as Kurama predicted, the enemies came straight from the puddle. They attempted to rush Kakashi, but Naruto quickly turned around and threw a kunai with an explosive tag attached. The kunai had embedded itself into a tree, trapping the enemies' chain.

"AHH! BROTHER!" One screamed. "Calm down, and release the chain!" The other ordered. The two brothers managed to get free in time to not get blown up. They decided to go after the Bridge Builder that was hiding behind Sakura.

Sakura's eyes widened when the two Mist Shinobi suddenly ran toward her. Sasuke suddenly appeared in front of her in a flicker, ready to protect her if needed. But before they could get too close to Sasuke, Kakashi tied them up to a tree and quickly checked if his students were alright.

"Naruto! You're hand... You were poisoned!" Naruto looked at the cut on his hand and shrugged, Kurama's Chakra makes him immune to most poisons. 

Naruto was momentarily encased in a red Chakra that healed his hand before disappearing. "I'm fine." He answered before walking toward the Demon Brothers.
