"How are you feeling?" He handed her an empty cup, she looked at her reflection in the cup of fresh brew.
"Gosh I look terrible" she noted.
He looked at her though, all disheveled from her nap and she looked as always, just as beautiful as ever, he just wanted to save her and save her fast. Fortunately for them her nap wasn't long enough to switch dreams. He could finally get a chance to try something in dream nine, it was a mostly pleasant and calm dream. He had been travelling for three dream days and slowly but surely New dreams started appearing and that only meant that she was falling deeper and deeper into her own trap. At this rate the risk was her being trapped forever and possibly losing her altogether. What if she never woke up? He could not let that happen, he needed this woman in his life, For their reality was better than dreams and
he had loved her for a long time with his deepest affections.
"I'm okay I guess... while you were out for the coffee I tried calling Jonas and the strangest thing is that he won't... he won't pick up. I'm so confused, If I didn't believe you then I do now, it's just so weird and uncomfortable" she sighed "This is just a lot for me to process, to be honest I don't really know how I'm feeling right now"
"I understand, sure it is...you really loved him didn't you?"
" I mean... I spent so much on our dream wedding in the Bahamas which of course is all lost now. I'd never get back those deposits and where is he and why...why is he ignoring my calls? And still I want to hear his voice and  still I want him to hold me" she let out a heavy sigh "I fell in love but what was I to him? Nothing at all?! why would he d-"
"I don't know Vi, and that isn't fair to you at all I'm just glad I found you and that I could help you before is is too late."
"Found me? You were looking for me?"
"Yes but It takes me a little while when I jump Drea-..." he trailed off realizing he could not finish his sentence, he was going to have to take things very slowly. "Erm when I travel to get to you, The thing is Vi, you're very special and the reason I seem so familiar is because we are connected, we have been for sometime and even though you don't understand everything right now, I can't lose you not in this world or any other"
"This world or any other?" She repeated with curiosity and confusion " hmm seems like a very strong thing to say... almost amorous even, are we married or something? Is this like one of those movies where I have amnesia" she laughed "wait I think I'd know if I had amnesia right?" She amused herself  "but wait, rewind, this world? connected?? What do you mean? I'm too confused to get more confused, help me out please what is going on?"
He was only hoping she didn't see him blushing for a mild second, he allowed himself to wonder; could she love him in this world too? How badly he had wanted her love, If only he could hold on to that, he might consider...no that was crazy talk he needed to focus "umm what I mean is Vi, you're more special than you think and trust me everything that I say is going to sound extremely hard to believe."
"Harder than a spy fiancé and a foiled wedding, and me running of with a "stranger" ... okay, try me" she quipped
"Vi, I need you to listen very carefully I'm going to explain this as best as I can, okay?"
"Okay" she sat up intently focused on him
"So dreams, have you ever heard of it?"
"Dreams?" She pondered "I want to say yes, that's a weird thing to ask," he could see her truly having trouble with the question "wait, now I'm not so sure, what do you know about dreams? what is it again?" She scratched her head.
He understood her confusion.

Dreams in reality, are just a regular part of a night's sleep, not complicated at all to comprehend, but not for her, She was living in her dreams, lost in it actually because she could feel everything and develop entire worlds and lives that of course, she would never perceive or detect that it was not in fact reality, more than that, no one had ever travelled dreams or jump dreams or created so many different worlds and control them as she could it was fascinating to witness but on this side of it , being trapped that is, was actually very scary, she had been in these worlds, asleep that is, for an entire week but in her worlds that cycle passed quicker and she was beginning to sink deeper and deeper into her dreams, separating even farther from time and reality, had she even remembered the real world? She had gotten so comfortable, so familiar with her worlds that her mind was now trapping her, defending against any escape, and now what he believed trying to destroy her very self. Kill her. The further she fell the harder it was to escape, the worlds were becoming more treacherous. Some were becoming mares, He knew she was running out of time. Whatever hope he had left he was going to try to explain to her. Out of all the dreams, dream nine was the closest to normal that existed. He was glad she woke up in this one, and that she left the house so easily this time. Was she starting to want to come out of it? Her resistance to him was lessening. He was collecting data as he went along, and she was believing him easier than before, now they just had to get back to dream ten to get to his lab.
That was the dream he met her in, the real version of herself, and the only source he found that could take them back to reality, he wasn't even sure if she would ever go back because it was slowly turning into a mare, but with her help maybe she would proactively work together to get there.
"well dreams are thoughts," he began speaking very calmly but with intensity "um prolonged thoughts that happen mostly when we sleep and sometimes they feel very, Very real and sometimes they don't make any sense at all. But we only realize than when we awake from the dream and we're back to reality and those thoughts go away, or they're supposed to go away as though they never existed but then we go back to sleep and we have more of these thoughts, or dreams, sometimes they come with every sleep or not at all" he paused to take in her expression "are you with me so far?"
"I think so I mean it sounds weird, making up a thought that isn't real? Like lying to yourself kind of? whats the point of that?" She was trying to understand.
"Well most people they don't get to make it up, it kind of happens to us, our brain does that part for us, most people. And it's not lying really it's just our imagination at work, mixing fantasy with real life. For some people they can choose..." he paused
How was he going to fully explain a dream to an actual dreamer? Where nothing made sense and that was the norm.
