Cheaper by the dozen

Part 6

Miles hated being the youngest. now don't get him wrong of course there were perks to being youngest maybe when he was younger. but now that he was in middle school his parents seemed to think he was old enough for more things like chores and other responsibilities. but apparently, they didn't think he was responsible enough for this ....

"For the last time miles, the answer is no!" 

"But papa it would only be two nights. and I already bought the costume for it." 

"Well, that's a shame you should have probably asked first before ordering it but you can reuse it for Halloween." 

"Pops Halloweens for babies." 

Steve sighed as he continued folding the laundry. 

"Miles I just don't think it's appropriate for an eleven-year-old to be alone at a hotel."

"But I wouldn't be alone peter wants to go too and there's tons of people that go to these and Quinn or nebula could go with me." 

 Steve looked at his young son wishing for the days where all he had to worry about with him was a missed nap time.  but he did realize his kids weren't little kids anymore now his house was overflowing with teenagers, so maybe he was a bit selfish with miles wanting his last kid to stay young. 

"Look I will talk it over with dad BUT if we say no that's final. I don't want to hear a bunch of whining from you or peter if it doesn't go your way, okay? " 

"Yes, papa I understand." 

"Good now why don't you go play with your siblings or something." 

with that miles ran off heading to peters room to tell him what had happened. 

the rest of the night went fine miles and peter had been overly obedient. even asking if there were any more chores to do Steve had taken advantage of the offered help getting his normal workload done in only a few hours. tony had asked about it later in the evening. 

Steve had sighed at his husbands inquires. 

"Peter and miles want to go to something called a comic convention.  some type of fan event they even bought costumes with their allowances. they want to stay at the hotel where the events being held and its two days." 

"Is it during school time." 

"No apparently it's a weekend thing." 

"Is it safe?"

"According to peter there's security at these things." 

"Not that it matters too much but how much does it cost?" 

"Huh I think miles said tickets are like $30 for the two-day passes. " 

"But you don't want them to go?" 

Steve turned to his husband.  "They're my babies." 

"they're not baby's anymore Steve their growing up I mean shoot soon peter will be in high school. and miles well Hes growing up too. "

"I know it's just. they're all getting older I mean Jesus tones. Quin ... our little Quin is graduating this year soon he'll be off to college and won't even think about his old dads. " At this Steve began to cry a bit overwhelmed by emotions. 

   "Oh babe " tony said as he comforted his husband.  the two fell asleep cuddled together. 

the next morning tony and Steve had woken up rather early getting up they headed downstairs surprised to see miles and peter already awake and making breakfast. 

"Well good morning you two what are you doing." 

"We thought we would make breakfast for everyone miles made the biscuits and I'm almost done with the eggs and the bacons still in the oven. " Peter said smiling at his dads as they sat down.

"Wow guys that was very nice of you well Steve looks like all we have to do is make coffee." 

"Alright I get it, look dad and I talked about it.  and I think if you two want to go to this thing you should be able to, but Quinn or nebula have to take you. " 

"Really?" Miles asked excitedly.  

"Yep really." tony said.  "Papa told me you two have costumes for this thing what are they?" 

peter and miles looked at each other before rushing upstairs coming back down a few minutes later both dressed as different versions of spiderman. 

peter looked at his dad's glee in his eyes "I'm the original spiderman and miles is the newer spiderman although I like the design of miles suit a bit better. " 

two months later 

"This is so awesome! " Peter said as he adjusted his mask. 

"Alright well I'm staying in the room you nerds have fun ." Quinn said laying back in the hotel bed. 

"We will " miles said grabbing peter and dragging him out from the hotel room and onto the convention floor. 

"This is going to be awesome " miles said as they went to a bunch of different panels and bought stuff from the artist alley. 

at the end of the two days the boys were exhausted falling asleep on the way home ."
