No one messed with Min Yoongi. He wasn't really that intimidating among the new trainees. He kept to himself and did everything he was told to do, but even his fellow trainees who weren't fans of the K-pop scene didn't make comments or belittle him for anything if it wasn't warranted.
They respected this man. There was no "you looked like a girl". In fact a lot of the guys had listened to his songs and felt the raw power and emotion in his lyrics. Yoongi hadn't sold out, even if he'd been styled as was the norm in the K-pop industry. It was about presentation after all.
A lot of the trainees were younger than him and addressed him as "hyung". Yoongi made friends with a few of them, just to keep the loneliness at bay. The other members of BTS were at other training camps and would be placed at other bases for their two years of service, so Yoongi had very quickly started to feel alone. Depression was a horrible thing alone. But since he'd made it public the other guys knew all about that. A few tried to keep him positive and motivated. Even a few superiors were sympathetic and less critical of him.
Thank you, all of you, he thought gratefully as he helped his comrades clean the bunk house spotless as was expected. I'll survive this until I can go home. Home was the other six, his soulmates. Sooner or later they would be able to have time off, or the government would decide they had to go do a special show for the prestige of South Korea among the rest of the world.
That was a little unfair. "If you want to" had been the option. We'll be assholes if we refuse, right? he figured. They guilt us, so we have to do it. Do our military service, but we're still at their beck and call if there's some big event we're needed for. Bastards. I'd rather just remain here until it's over.

Park Jimin didn't fare too badly either. Some of the trainees made fun of him for being so pretty, even with no makeup and hair buzzed short. But they didn't mess with him. He was good when it came to the training. He was very capable, and besides that, one of the superior officers at the base he was later stationed at had a daughter who adored BTS.
The man approached him a couple weeks into his service and asked if he could have an autograph to mail to her. In exchange he could guarantee that Jimin would be looked after and protected. No one would haze or harm him while he did his military service at this base.
"I would have given it anyway," Jimin assured with a little smile. "But I really appreciate your help. I want to do my duty properly without worrying about other things."
He wrote it out and handed it to him. Along with the signature he'd written "You have the best father. He is my guardian angel."
True to his word the superior officer kept an eye on him and made sure nobody bothered him, and Jimin was able to do his service without too much worrying.
I wonder how the others are doing. Namjoon, Jin, Hobi, Yoongi, and my best friends. I worry about Jungkook. He gets so lonely so easily and he has no one to turn to now. I'm anxious for when we get to go on leave and meet again. I want to see him and Taehyung so much, Jimin thought, lying awake on his bunk. Moonlight was coming in through the window.

The other trainee had followed him from the training camp to the base he was stationed at, and knew exactly who he was despite the bare face with all his little moles visible. He tormented him on the regular, taunting him, trying to get a reaction.
Kim Taehyung tried not to let it show but it stung him badly, finding himself crying in a storage room after the other soldier said the cruelest things. My skin isn't as tough as I wished it to be, Tae thought, hiding his face in his arm and sobbing, feeling so incredibly helpless. He missed Namjoon Hyung, wishing he could be held and comforted by him, or any of the others. Yoongi hyung would hug him, even though he didn't like such things. He would be sympathetic.
