It's Complicated- Chapter Seven

It might be a bit of a wait for the next chapter because of so many! assignments so I'll write as soon as possible.

The next morning I woke up early to go to the hospital. I woke Kieran up to let him know if he wanted to come, he could. I went into my little bathroom to take a shower. After a while there was a continuous knocking at the door.

"What?!" I yelled over the sound of the water against the ground.

"Can I use your toilet?" Kieran yelled back.

"Yeah just a sec." I turned off the water and put a towel around myself. I opened the door and just in time I was able to move out of the way to see Kieran run past me to the toilet room.

A few seconds later he walked out.

"Thanks. I needed that." He said.

"You're welcome. I'm going to get dressed and pack a couple of snacks to take with me when I see Cam."

"I'm coming with you. How about you do whatever you do each morning, I'll get snacks."

"Thanks. I'll make myself look pretty and get ready and I'll meet you in the car at 9." I said. He walked out

I went to my wardrobe got out a matching bra and underwear set and a pair of light denim jeans and a yellow flowing shirt. I put on a bit of lip gloss and mascara and I left my room with my phone, keys and wallet in hand. I walked past the kitchen to still see Kieran packing some lunch in an old lunchbox of mine that had Disney Princesses on it.

"I remember this lunchbox." I said.

"I do too. You took it to school every day for three years." We laughed together. It was true though.

I walked around behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him to me. I was truly appreciated that he did stay with me. If he didn't something bad would happen I felt it in my bones last night.

"I want to thank you again for staying." I said forcing a smile.

He turned around to face me. He looked at my necklace. He picked it up and admired his choice.

"You're welcome. I really hope you like this necklace." He said kissing the amethyst and placing it gently back on my chest.

"I love it to bits. It stays next to my heart."

He leaned closer to my face. I couldn't help but look at his lips.

"I'm sure you do." He leaned in closely and gave me a peck on the lips, ever so gently.

He grabbed the lunch box and gave it to me. We held hands and walked to his car. He unlocked the car and followed me to the passenger seat. He opened the door for me to slide in. I gave him a kissed him before he closed my door. He ran to the other side and got in too. He drove out of the driveway on the way to the hospital.

On our way, my favourite song came on the radio. I pumped the song 'Broken Hearted' by Karmin and screamed out the lyrics to it. Kieran turned to me and laughed. He started to sing along with me but laughed when I attempted to rap along with the words.

We got to the hospital not long after the song ended but the laughter continued. We walked straight to Cameron's room.

I opened the door to his room. Cameron was playing on his DS and mum was asleep still. She must have been up late last night. I glanced at him and smiled.

"Hey buddy, how are you feeling?" I said softly.

"It doesn't hurt as much now as yesterday but we can't start crutches until mummy wakes up." He whispered.

"Hey Cam." Kieran said.

"Hey Kieran. Guess what? The hospital let me connect my IPad to the internet!" he whisper yelled.

"That's amazing kiddo!" he replied in the same tone.

We both walked over to his bed and sat on the edge.

I gave Cameron the lunch box full of goodies and I told him I was getting a coffee. Kieran stayed with Cam and they both wanted drinks.

I got down to the cafeteria and I got two coffees and chocolate milk for Cam. I bought a double chocolate muffin and a red apple to eat because I forgot to eat breakfast.

On my way back I bumped into my mother.

"Hey I was just on my way back from the canteen."

"Yep. That's where I'm going now." She said.

"Get a coffee and when is Cam's crutch appointment start? And does dad know?"

"Supposed to be at eleven o'clock." She said. "That's what the nurse said anyway. And yes he does but he can't make it home early enough." My dad works out of town at different times and comes and goes all the time.

I walked back to the room and gave everyone there drinks. I gave the boys a bite each of my chocolate muffin and mum came back.

The nurse came in with a wheelchair to take him to his lessons with getting used to his new crutches. He's going to have to get used to them for when he goes back to school because there is no ramps for some reason.

Cameron's gone for around one and a half hours before he comes back in on crutches. He moves slowly on them but he looks like he's going all right with them.

Kieran stayed with me the whole time I was at the hospital but after lunch we went out into the town.

"I'm glad we got out of there. I always hate the smell of hospitals." He said.

"I couldn't stand another minute looking at my brother in pain. It makes me sad, especially because I wasn't there with him when it happened."

We looked in many shops around the mall. We went into a lot of jewellery shops and surf shops because they were my favourite and we went into any other type of shop you could think of. We bought many things from clothing to swimwear, furniture to cooking utensils and books to movies. We enjoyed our time in the store and went home after three hours or so.

Kieran dropped me home and he gave me a kiss on the lips but made it more passionate than any other kiss we've ever had. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled away into a hug. His arms wrapped around my waist made me feel like weight was lifted off my shoulders.

"Are you going to be okay tonight by yourself?"

"Yeah. I'm sure I'll be fine. If I need you I'll call you." I said.

"See you later then. Bye sweetie!" he yelled getting into his car again and driving off.

I'm guessing I'll drive to Lily's tonight and stay there so I'm not alone.

I called Lily.

"Hey Lil, It's Mel, can I stay tonight because I'll be home alone."
