Solara was lying on the couch in Fuego's office, staring at the ceiling as her right hand ran up and down his back, as he laid on top of her, while her left hand played with a strand of his hair. His steady breathing rang clear in her ears, despite being quiet and soft like the rustling of leaves on a bright summer day. His eyes were closed, and his arms were wrapped around her, holding onto her as if to make sure she wouldn't disappear while he wasn't looking. He had placed his head onto her chest, so that he might listen to her heartbeat, and the quiet song of it, that it sang only to him.

Their shoes were kicked onto the floor, and their capes cast onto the back of a chair, but still it was getting warm, just lying there, in each other's embrace. But neither minded, for maybe, just maybe, this way they could melt into one, so that they both would always have something belonging to the other with them. Perhaps now that they had let their feeling spill onto the other, bleeding out the sorrows of their hearts onto each other's shoulders. And just as the sorrow-shell of his heart lightened, pouring into hers, she poured hers into his, making them both feel lighter. For it was easier for the sorrows of the other to seep through the cracks of the heart-shaped vessel, than those of their own. And seep they did, disappearing, becoming easier to bear, fading away from the world they were in.

His hair felt silken, falling between her fingers, and his broad chest felt almost crushing over her frame. But still, she wouldn't have changed it for the world. It was perfect, the moment with all the little things that made the moment just as it was.

Her gaze turned to the door as she heard faint whispers from the other side, flowing through the silence that otherwise lingered in the room.

"You think they killed each other?"

There was a faint scoff, made by another voice. "You think the captain would have gone down that easily."

"I don't know man... She was pretty scary..."

"Yeah, but... Still, we would have heard a battle!" The other insisted, still trying to speak in whispers.

"Yeah... true..."

"Plus, there's still mana on the other side so... they can't both be dead."

Solara smiled to herself, feeling amused more than anything because of the conversation.

"What?" Fuego's faint voice vibrated against her skin.

"Nothing, I just find the conversation on the other side of the door amusing," she spoke with a hushed tone.

"Hmmm..." he hummed in thought while turning his gaze to her. "I don't know. They are right. You were pretty scary," he smirked.

"Hmm... Well then," she chuckled, "it's a good thing you're brave."

He shook his head and chuckled while getting up and putting on his boots. "I need to be," he smirked while giving her a mischievous smile, a flicker of light radiating from his deep, purple eyes which had a layer of lavender hidden beneath the surface.

"Because of me?" She spoke with an innocent undertone while sitting up and tilting her head.

"No comment," he chuckled.

"Hmm..." she hummed with a flicker in her eyes as the corners of her lips tugged up. "I wouldn't have argued against even if you had admitted so," she teased.

"Mhm," he hummed while still wearing that same smirk, before opening the door and stepping into the corridor to call out the names of two younger members of the squad.

She slipped on her shoes, leaning forward while wearing a prominent smile as she listened him.

"Come into my office," he ordered with a calm, and yet low tone, stressing his statement to them. And sure enough, a pair of steps began walking back.
