Happy New Year Everyone❤️. May this year be filled with laughter and joy for you all❤️❤️
I decided to stay up last night and watch a film to end 2022. As I was scrolling through Netflix, I found hey sinamika and I decided to watch it.
Title- Hey Sinamika
The film stars- Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao and kajal Agarwal
Direction- Brinda (a well-known choreographer)
Music- Govind Vasantha
The film revolves around the concept of mishaps after marriage and explores love in general. The first half introduced us to Yaazhan (aka- Dulquer) and Mouna (aka- Aditi) and their marriage is shown right at the beginning through a song. The film starts off with a humorous tone and gets the audience laughing straight away. Yaazhan is portrayed as a talkative person with a chirpy personality. Mouna on the other hand gets annoyed by yaazhan's talkative nature. I personally loved yaazhan's character because it was so unique and real. In society nowadays we don't see many people like Yaazhan. Another thing I loved was that Yaazhan was a househusband. We are so used to seeing housewives that we forget that it's also ok to be a househusband. Mouna on the other hand represents many people in society. The first half starts off slow and the screenplay was average. In the second half, the plot starts to thicken as we get introduced to Malar (aka, kajal ). Malar is a psychologist and is well known for splitting couples up. The second half really shows the toxic side of Mouna and opens us up to a new side of Yaazhan. Malar's character was written and portrayed so beautifully. She represents the mentality of many women in society. The second half had a better screenplay and the film started to pick up. The film holds good social messages but the screenplay was lagging in some places for me. Other than that, the music and bgm were done well and the cinematography was also really good. I loved the choreography for the songs and Brinda Master really aced it there. The climax was predictable but still heart-touching. Overall, it was a decent film, a one-time watch.
Age rating?- Netflix gave this film a 12 but I think it should be a 15 Because there are some make-out scenes shown and the content is mature as a whole.
Acting?- Dulquer, Kajal, and Aditi aced their roles and they really held the film together. Dulquer's performance was what kept the film together.
Music?- Loved the songs. Thozhi was my favorite. The songs were mainly used as fillers and the Achamillai song was not necessary, in my opinion. Bgm's were decent.
Ratings
Acting- 9/10
music- 7/10
Screenplay- 5/10
Direction- 6.5/10
overall film- 7/10
Considering that this was Brinda Master's first film, I am impressed. She just needs to work on screenplay and the arrangement of songs.
BoxOffice- the film overall was a hit.
