《 3 YEARS LATER 》

"Boom!" a boy with sandy blonde hair crowed. "Take that!"

"Ya, ya, whatever," Jason said while rolling his eyes.

"You're just jealous," the first boy smirked from the other side of the volleyball net.

"In your dreams, Davis!," Jason retorted before serving the ball back over the net.

Davis quickly returned it, before Zoey immediately sent it back over. Another son of Hermes, and Davis' brother, intercepted the ball and sent it straight towards Jason. However, before he could return the ball the sound of a hunting horn echoed across Camp Half-Blood from the direction of the hill holding the Athena Parthenos. Unfortunately, this distracted Jason, which meant that the ball smacked him square in the ear.

"What was that?" Davis asked.

"No idea," Jason responded as he rubbed the side of his head.

"The hunters," Zoey breathed as she watched a mass of silver crest the hill.

"Are you sure?" Thalia questioned her husband inside their shared tent. "We don't have to go there."

"We need to," Percy replied. "For the kids."

"I know, but -" Thalia started.

"Honey, the kids have only ever seen the place from a distance. They deserve to visit and see what it's like," Percy gently interrupted his wife. "Besides, it's been over 25 years. I think it's time we stop sulking and face the past."

"I agree," Thalia smiled. "Besides, it'll be nice to rest during Christmas with this little one," she said while rubbing her bulging stomach.

"Yes, it will," Percy said lovingly while coming up behind Thalia and hugging her from behind, kissing her on the cheek while he rested his hands on her own. "You rest," Percy then continued while turning his wife around. "I'll go tell my mom, and the girls."

Jason and Zoey watched the silver mass came down the hill and into camp. A small group detached from the rest as they neared the Big House and the Roman fort that stood situated next to it, while the rest of the hunters made a beeline straight for Artemis' cabin. Jason couldn't but stare as the Hunters of Artemis passed. He had only ever heard whispers about them, they had not set foot in camp since that Annabeth lady was defeated all those years ago. Well, that's what the stories said anyways. At this point most people assumed they were an urban legend, himself included.

As Jason watched the girls pass, he got more than a few dirty looks. There was also, surprisingly, one boy with auburn hair in the crowd. However, Jason couldn't think much about it because that's when he saw her. Jason's breath caught in his chest as his eyes rested on a figure towards the rear of the crowd. The girl looked to be his age, and had a slight build with wavy brown hair. Almost as if the girl could feel Jason staring at her she turned her head, and Jason's eyes locked with her piercing purple ones. As their eyes remained locked, Jason felt something resonate from deep within himself. He knew this girl. He could say when, where, or how he met her, but deep down he knew that she was someone close to him.

"You're staring," Zoey whispered as she elbowed her brother.

Shaken out of his trance, Jason turned to his sister. "Do we know her?" he asked.

"I don't think so," Zoey said with a frown. "But something about her seems very familiar. Like we are good friends."

"Ya," Jason said while nodding and staring off into the distance. "Good friends. . ."
