Slam
The bars slammed back into the ground, squishing your chest between two bars, and further crushing it. You coughed violently as you tried to regain your breath. You couldn't breathe.
Jareth quickly walked up to the bars and muttered some type of language and the bars let go immediately. Jareth catches you as you fall and he holds you for a moment as you regain your breath.
"Are you alright?" Jareth softly questions. You nod as you take in deep breaths.
"Maybe I should lead for the rest of the time?" It wasn't a question, even though it sounded like one.
You just didn't realize you could seriously get hurt here. Your mistake, you guessed.
Jareth helped you up and after making sure you could walk alright, he began to lead the way. You glared at the bars and then followed after him.
There was a ladder at the end of the hall, and Jareth went up on it first, testing the integrity of the ladder and then climbing up.
All you could (think about was how much you were in love with this world. You hoped the book would take forever fixing up so you could stay here with him. Keep exploring and bantering. This was really going to hurt your health later/ stare at, was his body moving up the ladder. You look away, rubbing the back of your neck. Your mind was too dirty for this.)
"Are you coming?" Jareth called from the top.
"Yeah sorry, got distracted."
"Mmm sure. I'll let you think that." Jareth responded as you climbed up after him.
You got out of the pipe, not seeing Jareth offering his hand. After you swung your leg over and situated yourself, it was like a mini garden Labyrinth.
"Aw it's a mini-labyrinth! Got any plants that eats man coincidentally."
"No but I could plant them for next time." Jareth said darkly. You look behind you to see him grinning.
Ah. Dark humor.
"Well I have tons of bad ideas, so if you ever need one, all you gotta do is listen to me talk." You joked.
"I don't think you have bad ideas. I think you're just in the wrong world. With the wrong crowd." Jareth said.
Clangs of armor came through.
"Y/n, these are my soldiers. The ones who ripped through your toys." You looked at all of them. You recognized the middle one.
"Your metal tasted 'orrible." It said glaring at you.
"You lick rocks Rond." A high pitched goblin said.
"Taste better than that crap!" It shoved the other goblin.
"Quit making a fool of my kingdom. Begone." Jareth sends them away.
You looked at a dark and alluring path in the distance. "Where does...this way go?" Jareth looked and said as nonchalantly as he could. "Oh it leads to a dead end. Nothings in there."
You raise an eyebrow. "Keeping secrets Jareth?"
"It's better that you don't go in there. There's real danger. I wouldn't want you to loose your life." Jareth said.
What horror could be waiting beyond?
A goblin comes up.
"Tiq, what do you want?" Jareth asked annoyed.
"There's a brawl in your throne room." Jareth face palms and then says "Tiq, he does not go anywhere you understand?"
She rolls her eyes "Yes your highness."
Jareth disappears.
Tiq looks up at you. "Are you his boy toy?"
"WHAT?!" You exclaim. "I am not a boy toy, we're just waiting for the book to recover fully."
Tiq frowns. "Well, why are you still here? He doesn't need the book fully recovered to send you back. Unless he's actually trying to keep you here. But he's a lonely prick, so I'd understand why. Anyway, you don't want to be on the grass when the lawnmowers come out. They may look cute, but they eat anything that gets near their mouth."
Tiq walked off and you followed her, distinctly hearing a scream and a crunch and some sort of mowing sound.
Yeah, you wouldn't want to have been that goblin.
"Hey you, want to get in some trouble?" Tiq asked with an impish grin.
"What kind?"
"Going to places we shouldn't be." Tiq says.
Goblins were known to be chaotic and mischievous, and yet as you look at her, you didn't care about the consequences. This was going to be fun.
"Alright then. Lead the way."
"Excellent."

"So what's beyond the tunnel?" You ask Tiq.
"Firey's. They like to chilly down with people. They have a nice song. Except don't look at their faces. They're kinda ugly." Tiq says.
"What do they do?"
"They like to play ball- oh watch your step, you might fall into a snake trap." She showed off her toothy smile.
"You're not telling me the truth Tiq." You said.
"But that's not going to stop you from coming." Tiq shrugs.
She was right.
And you completely forgot about Jareth's warning, or that he was coming back.
It was strange really...you couldn't remember why you were here. But that's alright. Because you were going to see the Firey's. What a strange name. You would get to meet them and have a good time.
Forever.
Forever? That's a long time.
Forever.

When Jareth came back to the spot, the lawn was being mowed by the lawndoggers. Tiq and Y/n were not there.
"TIQ!" Jareth yelled. No answer.
He looked at the human footsteps in the dark tunnel and upon further investigation, tiny feet.
"Tiq, I will hang you by your toenails when I find you." Jareth mutters.
Jareth easily caught up to them. They were halfway through the forest.
"Y/N!" Jareth called.
You froze.
Tiq's giggles went through the air. "I think we've been caught."
You laughed. "I suppose so!"
Something was wrong.
Jareth looked around at the fog and sighed. Forspores. They essentially drugged you for a few moments while you fall into the Firey pit. And then sometimes, they get to collect the slow human's head.
He couldn't let that happen to you.
