Backstory:

I was born 10 January and my whole life turned upside down when I turned 8 (drama pause). I, Fiona Ana Freitas Pereira, a brunet girl, lived with Mãe (Susana Bela Freitas), Pai (Jorge Pedro Sousa Pereira) and my 5 years younger sister () and we were a normal Portuguese family in general. A very smart older child, not enough to be out of normal, enough to get praise and pressure, two working parents and a little 3-year-old girl.

So, it is the 10 of January again and were having a normal party. The cake appears and I make my regular wish for a unicorn, except this time when I blow the candles my hair turns as red as the fire. And then I discover I could shapeshift (or gain the ability to shapeshift, no one's really sure of what happened). And, like a normal 8-year-old kid, I showed my new superpower to every single one of my friends, without counting the ones that already knew because they were at the party (and birthday parties were a big thing back then).

And as obvious, powers attracted attention. And attention came just 2 days before. A Sunday that I had spent with Dick. Richard John Grayson, Dick for friends. He was a dear friend of mine that worked at the circus, even with him being the same age as me, with his parents (who were my parents' friends). He came to Portugal at this time of the year and that was always amazing since I had literally known him since we were born.

And I and my family get home like normal. Somehow, we didn't notice the pigeons coming behind us, but who would? And somehow, we ended up in the kitchen with this pigeon now turn in people ready to kill us in the little apartment's living room. I don't remember the details, but I burned them alive. I was trying to turn into a dragon that day and had been able to spit a little bit of fire and smoke that day so it seemed like a good defence.

Of course, my parents got me and my sister out of there quickly as possible, reassuring us that I hadn't just killed 3 pigeon people. And they drove us to the Haly's Circus, where the Grayson's were. So, I slept there, in Dick's room with my sister and soon to be bestie. I don't know exactly what my parents did all night, by I'm pretty sure some of it wasn't legal. And the next day we were officially dead.

We got new names and flew the country the next day. I was now Maria Ana Pereira Rosa, and I admit, calling my sister a different name and responding to Maria instead of Fiona was a weird experience, but I manage. I mean, Dickie still called me Blair but that was an inside joke we had. And inspired by that name, I became Blayze, the flying flame (that was why I and Dickie started calling ourselves also Flame, me, and Flyer, him).
