"Hey Riya, I wanted to let you know that I am inviting you to my party. I will let you know more details when you call me back. Love ya" the voicemail stopped that was sent from Adora.
Adora is the most supportive friend I could ever ask for, especially when I want to rant about how stressed I am from being behind on rent and the studying. She always there to listen.
I felt a hard slap to the back of my head and I turned around to see my mother signing very quickly.
"Get your ass of that phone and help me with the food so we can open" she signed as she glared at me. Today was big because it was Valentine's Day. I don't care for it but my mother do. She always goes all out and this is the time where the bakery is flooded with orders.
"Okay mama... the slap was unnecessary tho" I signed as a smile grew on my face. She raised her up as if she was gonna smack me again but she laughed.
I always enjoy these moments with my mother since I am the only child.

I picked up the phone and answer it.
"Hi, welcome to Avalon sweet treats. How may I help you?" I said over the loud commotion coming from the long line that's wrapped around our store.
As I took orders on the phone my mother took orders for the people in the lines, going one person by one.
"10 cupcakes okay... and what flavors?" I asked as I waited to write down her order.
"Okay! That would be 15$ and will be ready in 10 minutes" I said before hanging up and huffing out.
"Next in line!"
