I gave my mother a day off today, she's been working hard. A little too hard and I don't want her to overwork herself.
Business was a little slow today but it was tolerable for myself to take care of so it wasn't a problem to me.
My smile faded when I seen Atlas. Atlas was our building owner and he was a bitch.
"Hello Atlas" I gritted through my teeth as I plastered on a forceful smile. He lightly stroked my cheek but I smacked it away.
"Ooo, feisty... me like" he licked his lips showing his yellow teeth. I threw up in my mouth.
"Don't touch me" I spat with disgust as I grabbed a napkin and wiped my face.
I'm surprised he's not here with a women. Every other day it's a new women or even one women in the morning and then a different one at night. Nobody likes him in Brooklyn, he's a liar, a man whore, and disrespectful.
"Where's your mother?"
"She's not here" I stated.
He hummed and then clicked his tongue. "I'm going to keep this simple darling..." he slowly said as he leaned on the counter which made me back up.
"Your mother has a week to give me my money or I will be taking this shop away from you." He said happily and clapped his hands as he leaned off the counter.
"What do you mean, my mother always been on track with the money" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Aht- Aht- ahh" he said as he smiled.
"Your mother has been behind for what... going on 4 months now." He said as he hummed.
I sat there with my mouth slightly open as I stared at the ground.
"There's one way you can repay me" he smiled.
"And that is?" I said still looking at the ground, not wanting to face him.
"Working for me, just show up at my club and I'll see what I could arrange"
"I'm not being a dancer" I bluntly said.
"Oh, no, no, no... never that, your father would kill me" he said.
"As again show u..,"I took my hearing aids off so I wouldn't hear him anymore.
I pointed to the door as he looked at me as if I really just did that too him.
I pointed again to the door and he smiled at me and said good day as I read his lips.
I placed back on my hearing aids and sat down on the stool and placed my forehead on the grey marble counter.
The door chimed and I quickly shot my head up making me groan from the sudden dizzy sensation.
My eyes locked with the blue icy eyes from last night. "Rough day?" He asked as he approached closer to me.
I stood up and sighed. "Very" I placed on my gloves.
