Jackson was about to go to her when he looked down and saw the dead body. He gasped and squat down to check who it was. He looked at the man's face and remembered it. Officer Lee was dead before him. He stood back up and looked towards Star to see her trembling.
Jackson noticed a few blood stains on her clothes. "Star," he said and proceeded his way toward her after finding a better way towards her without having to move the dead body. Star starts to cry and shake relieved from seeing him. Jackson grabbed her and quickly pulled her in a hug. He wrapped his arms around her tight as he could tell she was shaken up.
Star sobbed into his chest. She pulled him closer as her arms wrapped around his body. Jackson's hand was wrapped into her beautiful curly hair as he tried to calm her down. Sirens were heard outside and then footsteps above them reached the entrance to the basement and went down the steps. "Hands up!".
Star and Jackson pulled away and slowly raised their arms. They both were confused by the arrival of the police. Jackson didn't call them. "Chief!" One of the officers yelled and crouched beside the body checking it. The officer looked at the other and slowly shook his head noting that he was no longer breathing.
The officer grabbed his walkie-talkie and radioed in for an ambulance before looking at Star and Jackson. "Did you find them?!" Yells someone as they rushed down the stairs. Everyone's attention goes to the person which was Rose. "Rosie?" Star called out and Rose sighed relieved. She ran to Star giving her a big hug. "How did you know I was here?" Jackson asked confused. Rose pulls away and looks at him smiling.
"I followed you. I went with my gut feeling and it said you were going to do this so I called the cops" Rose explained but she added she had no idea a body was there. The ambulance soon arrived taking the body away. They also took Star to give her a check-up. As the police were questioning Star, Jackson and Rose talked. "What about Taemin, did they catch him?" Jackson asked Rose.
"Yeah. After finding the weapon, they found his fingerprints on it and immediately arrested him on campus" Rose replied. Jackson nodded and looked at Star who seemed to be almost finished with questioning. Rose noticed Jackson staring at Star. "Go to her," Rose said which caused Jackson to look at Rose.
"I know you want to check on her. Even if you and her broke up, I know you still love her. Plus, she's just going through something traumatizing" Rose said. As much as Jackson wanted to comfort Star, he thought giving her some space would help but Rose was right. Jackson nodded agreeing with Rose and proceeds to Star.
When Jackson arrived the officer finished questioning her leaving them both alone. Star sat there with a blanket over her. "How are you feeling?"Jackson asked standing before her. "To be honest, I don't even know. One minute I'm okay and the next all I can see is Officer Lee being brutally murdered right before my eyes". Star complained and freaked out. Jackson grabbed her hands and shushed her calming her down.
"It's okay, I'm here for you. I won't leave you behind like this". Jackson said and she nodded trying to smile some but it wasn't working out.
After the incident happened, the news spread throughout the entire campus. Everyone was shocked at the news but Layla. She didn't even care. For the most part, she thought Star deserved it. Minghao wanted to see if Star was alright but didn't. The tension between the two is so awkward as is and he couldn't risk it especially if he was catching dirt on Layla.
The next few days Star tried to make everything normal and how it was before Taemin but it was useless. She would get stares and weird looks everywhere she went. Even in class, when they would paint. The red paint triggered flashbacks of what happened that night since the paint reminded her of blood. Star had panic attacks during class and Rose would try to help but Star would ask to be excused.
