I : I SAW YOU.

JAKE'S POV.

I was walking across the bridge when I saw a man standing on the edge of the bridge, and I dropped my groceries because I rushed to him.

"Stop right there and don't move!"

I shouted at that person because he was trying to do something crazy.

"Please, stay right there."

I am trying my best to maintain calmness for his sake.

"Whatever your problem is, I am willing to help you."

Finally, that person looked at me for the first time.

"Help me?"

"Yes, I will."

He cries.

"Okay, I'll just stay there, okay?"

I am slowly and carefully taking my step towards him with my eyes closed. I hate heights, to be honest.

Fortunately, God blesses me. Why? because I walked on that thin steel successfully. So on, I reached for his hand and offered him everything I had.

Starting by helping him go down peacefully. After I got him down, we became awkward and to get rid of the awkwardness I've decided to introduce myself to him first.

"I'm jack."

I was trying to shake hands with him, but it didn't work, i bet he's really scared or maybe he's weirded out by me.

"It's fine, no pressure."

He just looked at me, and I don't think that's a good thing at all.

"Wait, I'll take something."

I went back to get my groceries so I could offer something for him.

"Here."

I gave him my drink; it's fortified milk.

He didn't move, so I put it down instead.

"Sorry, I don't have any solid food for you to eat because I accidentally dropped it and it spilled on the road."

I am quite embarrassed, though.

He then looked at me.

Finally, I guess he will talk now.

"Am I not good enough?"

He reminds me of my mom.

Those words.

Those depressed eyes

In his tones, it all felt sorrowful.

Without hesitation, I give him a warm hug. It is; that's what he needs.

"You are good, more than what you are thinking right now."

He cries loudly.

I can't let him go; I just feel like I am hugging my mom right now.

I never had a chance to hug her, and this time I will not let that chance fade away anymore.

My mom once said, "You should help someone who's getting through its darkness; you have to be its light to make its life bright."

"I'll be your light." I whispered.

After an hour, he is now sleeping on my lap.

It may be strange to treat strangers like this, but I don't think it's that strange if you are helping one another. Help doesn't have rules for who, where, or when you will help, the important thing is that you helped.

It's 12:45 in the morning, yet I feel like this is already a long day for me.
