Billy felt he could trust nothing, no one.

That was the way it had always been for Billy but this time he actually wanted Max's help. El's support. He knew deep down inside he now could trust them now.

But he still didn't fully trust the rest of Max's friends.

Definitely didn't like Lucas or Steve Harrington. But any of them would of been a better company then this mysterious woman.

Vine was keeping her distance.

She had watched Billy try to fight, then fall apart, beg for mercy, beg for death and scour his way round the room looking for an escape. He was a total mess.

She kept her distance knowing he was afraid of her. But in moments when he fell silent she would talk about herself. Giving him bits of information in the hopes that it would lead him to trust her. At first he rebelled at any conversation she tried to make with him. But even though he kept his guard up he was beginning to listen intently.

There was a part inside of  him screaming that he could trust her but he also felt like it was some sort of trick. A false sense of security and after everything he had been through he didn't want to lose himself again.

So he let her talk but he didn't respond to her.

When Vine had mentioned everything possible about who she was, her childhood, her powers, she went quiet for a few minutes.

Studying his expressions, trying to see if there was a part of Billy that believed her.

Any flicker of hope she waited for.

But none came.

He was a tough one to crack.

"okay then next part Billy you need to know exactly what's been going on in Hawkins"

So starting from the beginning Vine told him everything he had missed since his death.

Everything that she had seen about Vecna, Max, Max's friends, El.

This peaked his interest more.

But he called her out when she mentioned what happened to Max..

And told her she was full of shit.

She got frustrated and flooded images in his mind of what happened to his step sister.

Making him see it as if he was actually there.

As if he was actually living through it.

When  Vecna appeared in Max's memories he ran away.

But when Vecna came for Max he found himself running towards her.

Trying to defend her

"move you little shit..  move!" he shouted at her as she tried to escape.

Anyone who knew him would think he didn't care bout Max at all. The way he spoke made it seem like she was just a liability that he had to save. But Billy did care about Max.  He didn't know how to talk to her better. Didn't know how to treat her one hundred percent right. All he knew was that when she was in danger it concerned him greatly.

So if he had to scream at her, shout, yell, push her forcefully to safety that's what he was going to do.

When he reached the near end of Max's memories.

He collapsed with shock when she died.

Only to be refilled with gratitude when she was brought back by |El.

But when Max returned empty.

Billy searched the darkness beside El.

Calling to find Max.

But there was no answer.

And when Vine brought him out.

He still didn't feel he could trust her but from what she showed him he knew what happened to Max was real. He knew that to be true.

Max was lost, the gates were open, Hawkins was in danger.

But before he could figure out how to make a decision of how he could find his way to help Max, an alarm blared loudly.
