New Earth

The TARDIS came to a gentle stop, Rose was thrilled to see where they were, she ran over to the door and opened it up to feel a gust of wind hit her. Ruby followed her out and The Doctor also followed. 

The three stepped out on to a new planet, with flying cars and futuristic buildings that were taller than the empire state building. With new roads and a different ocean. Everything was new and different to Ruby and Rose, but to The Doctor, the only thing that he found new and exciting were the faces of his two companions in astonishment.

"It's the year 5 billion and 23, we're in the galaxy M87 and this.." He paused

"This is New Earth" he smiled

"That....that's.." Rose couldn't finish her sentence from laughing at how amazing everything around her was.

"Not bad, not bad at all" He laughed

"That's amazing" Ruby said to herself, the cars flying overhead was what she was focused on the most.

"Oh, I'm never gonna get used to this, never." Rose grinned before jumping on the spot.

"A different ground beneath my feet, different sky...What's that smell?" She asked before The Doctor leaned down to pull a few blades of grass from the ground.

"Apple grass" He said, showing off the grass.

"Apple grass" Ruby and Rose chuckled.

"It's beautiful, I love this" Rose said, looking at The Doctor.

"Can I just say.." Rose began as she linked her arms around The Doctor's arm.

"Travelling with you...I love it" She said softly.

"Me too" He smiled before taking both Rose and Ruby's hand and rushing off to explore "Come on!" He yelled happily.

But what they didn't know was that someone lurking deep underground was watching them.

The three found a place to lie down and admire the view, The Doctor had laid his trenchcoat down for them to lie on. Unfortunately, there was only enough space to fit two people on it. So, Rose and The Doctor lay on his trenchcoat, whilst Ruby sat cross legged next to them.

"So, the year 5 Billion, the sun expands, the Earth gets roasted" The Doctor said, beginning to explain the origin of New Earth.

"That was our first date" Rose joked.

"We had chips" The Doctor chuckled.

"So anyway, planet gone, all rocks and dust but the human race lives on, spread out across the stars. Soon as the Earth burns up, oh yeah all nostalgic, big revival movement. They found this place, same size as the Earth, same air, same orbit, lovely! Call goes out, the humans move in" He explained.

"What's the city called?" Ruby asked.

"New New York" He said.

"Oh, come on" Ruby laughed, not believing him.

"It is! It's the city of New New York" He laughed, defending himself.

" Strictly speaking, it's the fifteenth New York since the original, so that makes it New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York." He chuckled, looking to Rose. He noticed that she was just staring at him.

"What?" He asked.

"You're so different" Rose said softly to him.

"New new Doctor" He laughed.

Rose got up and tucked her hair behind her ears, the moment she did that, Ruby got up to follow wherever she was going because she seemed to have better alien knowledge than she did.
