Knock knock. Who's there? Who is it? No, who is it? Me! Who is it? Me? Who is it? NO NO NO YOU JUST HANG UP! ME! WHO IS IT? NO NO NO YOU HANG UP!
"This has been a dark week for the female-looking-but-knowing redhead. I've been asked out on more Tinder dates than an Italian guy at his bachelor party. I've had a soda thrown in my face in a public lobby and have had giant men run up to me and my friends in this very airport and demand that we take pictures of them so they can copy them and then send them to their friends. And I've had to act like I didn't see it. I've been told I'm the "hottest redhead she'd ever seen," I've been called a "dinosaur," and "too pretty for words." It's been rough.
And this happens to a lot of ladies with red hair, believe me. But, ladies, I give you permission to sulk. It's okay to be mad, it's okay to take up an entire airport. It's okay to be irrationally jealous of redheads like Taylor Swift and Gemma Arterton who have an innate sense of confidence and style. If you're that upset, then please, please, let's all grow out our hair. We're not meant to be these pretty red heads forever.

Searching for a Redhead Doppleganger Let's go back to the beginning, the 1980s, the worst period of my life. That was also when I first discovered that I had red hair. I was a new cheerleader, but since I was the tallest girl in the squad (on purpose, so that I'd be able to hand out height boosts), I didn't have the coolest cheer shorts. In short, they were made for someone else. Luckily for me, it was also the era of color contact lenses. I had them in until I was in high school and into the era of colored contacts. But that was in the days before the phenomenon of twee colored contact lenses. Eventually, in the '90s, I started wearing color contacts, and that's when I really discovered that there were a lot of redheads in the world and they weren't the only ones! I also decided to try out a blonde look, as it seemed more sophisticated. It was also the time of big hair. (I'll show you the pics later. It's so 1990s). I was able to get away with my red hair until I hit my mid-20s, when I decided to come out of the closet about my red hair and try on blond, blonde, blonde. With each hair color, I tried to pick the most flattering light blond I could get. While it looked good on some days, I thought it was time to find another look. But it's not just about finding the perfect shade of hair color. It's about finding the perfect style. What suits your face shape? What looks flattering? If you have red hair, you know that there are countless shades and shades of red. There are purples, pinks, lighter browns, darker browns, even black. I've had people ask me if I would ever consider a "dirty blonde" style, but the answer is no. I know that I have red hair, and I know that most of my followers do too. But we should all be allowed to have fun and try new things. At least I hope so. You can always start with your stylist and ask him or her if they know of a good redhead looking to go blonde. He or she might know someone who would be perfect for you.
Redheads Are Unique In Their Own Way But you might be thinking to yourself, "But redheads are so unique in their own way. I could never do what they do." That's true. And there's nothing wrong with embracing that. But we're not born this way. There are many beautiful women with red hair out there, including me. We need to embrace who we are. But that doesn't mean that everyone needs to look the same. We don't have to wear the same clothes or use the same make-up, don't have to get the same haircut.
Going Back to the '80s and the '90s Before we get to this year's hair trends, I'd like to take you back to the '80s and '90s. (And I don't just mean our favorite teen movies.) I'm talking about hair in general. It's not just about hair color. We know that redheads have a lot of fun with color. And they do.
