MY STAR

ALEX HAD ALWAYS wanted a better life.

Originally from London, her father had left before she was born for no reason, she had never met him. Her mother had raised her for a few years, maybe until she was 5? No, until she was 8? Whatever, Alex only vaguely remembered her face and maybe it was better that way. Her mother had abandoned her after all. She couldn't handle the bills that were piling up or this child who looked just like her ex-husband with her chestnut hair and little blue eyes.

When Alex's little blue eyes would stare into her mother's, she would either cry her eyes out or get angry at her own child ( for no specific reason of course ). It was even worse when she had a bad day and came home from work. Her mother would go on a bottle spree and it was better not to be around at that time, Alex had understood this very well even as a child.

Alex understood it very well that winter evening.

That evening, his mother had been scrolling through bottles of vodka at breakneck speed and was lying on the couch with tears in her eyes. Alex had come out of her room to ask for help with her homework. But she shouldn't have come out of her room.

The child had walked towards her mother with small steps when her mother suddenly turned around. The girl was staring at her mother with her small blue eyes. Her mother was staring at her daughter with her disgusting eyes.

Alex did not remember the scene clearly, she just remembered her mother saying the words "I hate you" and "you don't even deserve my love, you're worthless". Alex didn't know if these words were meant for her or if her mother was saying them to her father's little blue eyes.
