I took a glance at Elena every now and then to make sure she's okay, I'm still holding her hand for support. She looks calm after a while-which made me wanna kiss her. But I shouldn't. I can't believe that fucker tried to touch her. He's going to be dead by the morning, I looked over to Elena to find her peacefully sleeping. She looked so beautiful sleeping. I checked the GPS to see there's 7 minutes till she arrives home. I hope she's going to be fine tonight

As much as I wanted to take her to my place, I knew my mom would be crazy worried seeing her this drunk, it was a safe option asking her to her house. "Are we there yet?" Her raspy voice made my heart beat harder, rubbing her forehead she got up which separated our hands, sadly. "No, we're almost there. You can rest more if you'd like." I offered

"No, it's alright. I just wanted to thank you for taking me home. I genuinely don't know what I would've done without you." She smiled.

I stopped in front of her house. "You're welcome sweetie. Text me before you fall asleep, so I'm not worried all night." I said turning to her neighborhhood. She laughed at the nickname I gave her. Sweetie
I checked the time and it was 1:49am. "thank you for dropping me off. I'll see you later." She replied. I didn't drive off till she was inside the house. The lights of all the rooms were off, so I assume her parents are asleep as well.

Before she closed her door, she mouthed 'goodnight Mr. Roscoe'

God this girl will be the death of me.

I decided to check up with Quinn - my best friend whome I supposedly trust on my life.
I dialed his number and checked up on Elena's friend to make sure he got it covered.

"Hey, man what's up- and if it's about the pretty girl at the bar. Yes she's fine I dropped her home." He said before I could even ask. "Great, you could go home. It's getting late now." I said sounding a bit commanding. "Alright, see you."

I drove back home, it took about 15 minutes. I walked inside to see a small body exiting the bathroom. "Hey, Corbin!" Kari said half asleep, half excited. "Hey, Kari, go to sleep it's late." walking over to her i leaned down to her height and smiled sweetly.

I hate how I have a sweet side.

Anything for my little sisters.

"Ok. Also why are you coming home so late?" She asked curiously cocking her head a little to the side.

"Don't worry about me, let me tuck you in bed. Come on.." I lead her to her bedroom. She jumped into the bed and I pulled the blanket higher to her neck and patted her head. "I wish Elena was here! Last time she read a story to me that she made up in her head. It was so good. Kennedy fell asleep but I kept listening. And she even gave both of us lucky charms to keep us happy forever, look!" She showed me key charms with a smiley face on it.

Elena did so much for them. She really is special. "Wow, she really did so much?" I asked staring at the charms. "Yep! Shes actually the best! I hope she never leaves."
"Could you make that happen Corbin?" She added "of course."
She smiled wide thinking in her thoughts. I couldn't help but smile.

"I hope she never leaves too" I mumbled while she fell asleep slowly.

The next morning I woke up to chattering in the living room, I fell asleep on the couch, shit. Probably happened while I was working on my job applications. I'm thinking of starting work. It'll keep me busy most of the time too.

"Corbin, any reason you woke up on the couch?" Dad asked with his brows raised.
"Yeah, I just forgot I had a bedroom" I sarcastically smiled.

"Okay, well we're heading out in about 3 hours, Elena will be here soon by then. Please make sure the twins don't cause trouble ." Mom begged switching my attention to 4 huge suitcases
That much for one weekend?

"Okay, mother. Got it. When are you returning again?" I sipped my coffee that was waiting for me on the table.
"Hm, we're thinking of returning on Monday morning, but. It could change due to the meeting plans." She sighed while shoving her food in her mouth. She looked like she was in doubt.

"I'm not a child anymore, mom. It's alright, trust me with this. I'm 24 for fuck sakes." I reminded them

"Oh which reminds me, no swearing in front of Kari and Kennedy. Or else.." Dad said keeping his attention on the article he's reading.

"Where are they anyway?" I wondered. They shouldn't be at camp since it's a Friday, or at their friends house since it's 9am.

"They went to the park with Mrs. Carries grandchildren. They must be having loads of fun, they'll return in a hour or so."
"Okay. I'm heading out then goodbye." I grabbed my wallet, car keys, and fixed my hair on the wall mirror. "Wait! where are you goin-" I heard dads voice fade away as I completely ignored them and entered the garage to my car.
