" Is she going to be okay?"

" Well, the poison is very dangerous, so it will take some time. "

" COULDN'T YOU HEAL HER QUICKER?! "

" Sir, please calm down. "

Crying and sniffing could be heard. " I should have warned her earlier... "

I felt some sort of weight of me. I'm in a bed, I know that, but where am I? I tried opening my eyes, but nothing. I then felt a sharp sting in my back. I was just extremely confused, what happened? Was mother cursed somehow? Why was father bloody on the floor? Why would mother do something like this? It has something to do with the " secret spice " doesn't it? Who was that man talking? His voice doesn't sound familiar...

My head aches just thinking about anything at this point, I'm probably in some sort of hospital. All I could hear was people chatting and the sound of footsteps. Suddenly, I can't feel myself. Can't breathe. 2 Weeks later...

" Huh? where am I? " Everything was blurry, can't feel my hands. There was a shadowy figure standing next to me.

" Oh you're alive! I thought that the stab wound was really serious, thank god it's not." It was a strange man in a purple vest with  what looked like llamas and some really big glasses, "Oh sorry, how rude of me! I'm Elwin, Elwin Heslege, nice to meet you; well I already met you... Do you need anything? Water? Food? I'll go get a nice cup of cold water for you, wait here." 

Dr. Heslege went go get a cup of water, I realized I was in a hospital, or something like that. There were some tubes and needles attached to me, and were filling me with a blue liquid. There was lots of chatter and heels clattering outside. All I could hear is a stinging sound in my head, I could feel pain all over my body; I feel like I'm going to die.

" I'm back! Here you go, now I need to check a few things, if you don't mind." Dr. Heslege came back with a neon green cup in his hands, " Temperature's good, Blood pressure's a bit unstable... Hmm okay, how many fingers am I holding up? "

It was really foggy, I saw a million of them, all swaying side to side. But if I said a million, he would think I'm taking some kind of drug.

" I see eight, " I whispered, I never realized my voice was so hoarse.

" Eight? I'm only holding up two, well okay then. From 1-10, how much pain are you in right now?" The doctor asked.

" Eleven "

" Oh come on, don't be like that! Really think about it. " He cheered,

" About a nine, actually "

" Oh dear, that's quite serious. Okay, I've already told Magnate Leto about your injury, and-"

" Injury? What injury? " I interrupted, " How did I end up here again? "

" Well, your mother was going to wake you up from a nap and then she saw blood all over your bed and a stab wound in your back. She called me immediately. Poor Laila, she's really afraid of blood; well you would know that, she's your mother after all." There were small tears flowing form his eyes.

" Who's Laila? " I asked, I have never met anyone that goes by that name.

" Laila Einself, your mother? " Dr. Heslege said, " Oh god did you lose your memories too? I'll get a remedy for that, wait here. "

Some of my memories are a bit fuzzy, but no way is that my mother's name. First she's acting all suspicious, then she chokes me to death; and now all of a sudden she changed her name. Last time I checked, a mesmer can't manipulate people's thoughts. What's going on? Something really wrong with my parents, I need to figure out what it is.

" I'm back, take these twice a day. Now, all of that is going to have some really bad side effects. " Dr. Heslege came and gave me triangle shaped crystals, " First of all, your ability is going to be a bit... how do I say this... Disabled? "

" WHAT?! HOW? " I shouted, some eyes were peering through the glass on the door of the room.

" No no no, don't worry! They're not going to be a 100% disabled, it's just that its going to feel like it's your first time using your ability that's all. " He said worryingly, sweat was streaming down his face, " And your spine isn't functioning so well, so you'll have to be extra careful when walking; if not, you might become paralyzed.

" You make it sound like I'm going to die. " I  said in an unsurprised tone.

" Well, I mean technically yes, wait I mean no, I..." At this point the doctor looks like he's going to have a panic attack. " You know what? I'll just say nothing, I'll inform Laila about your treatment. "

Dr. Heslege grabbed a board and walked out of the room hurriedly, I had too many questions to ask, but I was so tired, I just need a blink...

I woke up in a cold sweat, what was that? Who is this Laila person that keeps pretending to be my mother? I looked at the clock, flashing 00:06:50 AM in my face. I am so confused about all of this. Just then, a nurse comes into my room with a needle filled with pink goop.

" Oh! I thought you would be asleep right now, sorry. I just need to give you a needle; it's for your ability. Don't worry, you won't feel any pain. " The nurse jabbed the needle in my arm, I winced, I'm not a fan of needles.

" Okay then, some of your friends will be visiting you in the morning, get some rest; I'll inform the Vackers that you're doing okay. " The nurse walked out of the room, why does Bianca want to visit me? We're barely friends.
