I'll Wait For Love (Steroline Fanfic Season 7)

Chapter 1: Why?????

He was sitting on his desk slowly thinking what to write in his diary. Should he write about how he had yet again argued with his brother? Or should he write about how his lunatic mother and her crazy so called 'family', had taken over the place that he called home? Or should he write about how he regretted what he had did 7 years ago with the love of his life? The love of his life. The thing that he desired the most in the whole world but had let her go. His best friend. Caroline Forbes.

Stefan looked up, and there he saw the young and perfectly beautiful Caroline, looking at him with her shimmering blue eyes from the photo he had of her lying on his desk. He closed his eyes and just then a tear drop fell from his eyes and a bright light took him back to that dreadful memory......

Caroline walked into Stefan's room and when he turned around he heard a child crying. A little girl in Care's arms. She couldn't be more than two days old.

"Stefan, I need to talk to you", she said, "about our future."

"Well so do I but who is this child, you've never mentioned her?" he replied.

"That's what I want to speak to you about." Caroline wanted to run into his arms and cherish him forever but as much as she hated it, she needed to talk to him about all of this. "Stefan, I found this baby and she really looked desperate to have a family, a mother. She's April's daughter, you know the girl, Elena used to babysit. April called me about a week and told me that she was pregnant but her father had disowned her. She told me that she had too many complications in her delivery and she couldn't survive the birth. She said that she wanted us to take care of her, for a while, as she didn't have anyone else. April is died yesterday." She stopped for a moment with tears filling her eyes." I always wanted a daughter but I know it isn't possible for me. So I've decided to become her mother and leave Mystic Falls with her. I've already adopted her and named her Angel, Angel Forbes." She continued.

Stefan had to take a moment to process. He had told Caroline that he would wait for her until she was ready for him but now she wanted to leave him, just like that. "But Care, how can I live without you, I know I said that I would wait for you, and I will but not while you are this far away from me!"

"That's why I want you to come with me, and raise this child with me. You told me that you always wanted a family. Someone to love eternally. You told me that when I would be ready for you, you would be ready for me. And I am ready for you. I want you Stefan Salvatore. We can have our happiness, far away from all the nonsense that your mother has caused. Far away from this dreadful town where I have lost my mother, my best friend, all the people that I once cared for. But I can't lose you so please take my hand, pack your bags and come with me. We can have that happily ever after that we always dreamt of!" said Caroline hopefully, wishing that the guy that was always by her side would support her through this too.

Stefan knew that he should take her hand, love her, kiss her, embrace her every day. The tempting of her hopeful look made him decide his whole future, but then all those worried faces of his friends, his brother appeared in front of him. The brother that was mourning for the love of his life that he had just lost . The brother whom he loved deeply because the one and only Elena Gilbert made him realise their love for each other. He couldn't leave her alone in the cemetery. He couldn't leave his brother. He couldn't be so selfish. He had made his decision and told Care what needed to be told.

"I love you Caroline Forbes! So much more than I ever thought I could. I'm madly in love with you.... Yes I want to love you eternally. And yes I want to raise this child with you and have a family, but I don't think it's possible. Not right now. My brother needs me. This town needs me. Bonnie can't help Damon. Yes she can be the most best friend ever like you were to me but if he goes off rails then he needs me. I'm sorry Caroline. I guess I'll have to wait even longer for you to come to me."

Just then that gleeful smile that had once appeared on Caroline's face, faded into darkness once again. She placed Angel down onto the bed and ran into Stefan's arms to embrace him. Stefan too couldn't resist the urge of the warmth of her body. And soon the tight embrace turned into a passionate kiss. Their lips were hungry for love but the sudden thought of this probably being their last meeting, broke the kiss. Care turned away with tears filling her eyes and said those three magical words....

"I love you Stefan! And I will respect your decision... goodbye Stefan Salvatore. I'll miss you." She picked up the innocent baby girl and left.

Suddenly, the memory faded away and there sat Stefan, on his desk with tears flooding his diary.

Just then Bonnie walked in.

"Stefan. You have to come with me. It's Damon" she said anxiously.

"Tell me something new," he replied. Then they left the room.

There in the Salvatore Library sat Damon, drunk once again.

"Oh hello Little Brother, come to tell me how pathetic I am and how I've ruined my life by ripping peoples heads off?", Damon said sarcastically.

"No, actually I wanted to show you the reality. You're not the only one who lost Elena that day. We all did. Don't forget that she was my soul mate once. You weren't the only one who had lost the love of your life, three months after you, I lost Caroline too. The only difference is that there's no hope of me ever seeing her again. But for you, in 60 or 70 years you'll have the love of your life back whereas I won't. But that doesn't mean that I've become a Ripper again and I don't intend on either."

"Wow amazing speech about how I stole the love of your life...." yelled Damon until he stormed out of the house. Stefan and Bonnie looked at each other in disappointment. Stefan thought for a minute that why had he let Care go that day?

However, Bonnie ran after Damon in order to save her best friend.

Damon looked angry until he heard a voice behind him. He recognised it straight away. It was his dreadful mother, Lillian Salvatore. Her humanity had been turned off for seven yeas because it tuned out that the heretic she most cared about, hadn't made it through the prison world and as the Gemini Coven was gone, all the prison worlds, and everyone in it was gone too.

"Hello son. How are you? I mean after spending 7 years of your life without your epic love..." She said with a sly look on her face.

"Hello the most dreadful mother in the whole world." Said Damon looking like he was ready for a fight.

"Damon....." said Bonnie in a feared way.

"Ahhh, alas the witch who was bent on ruining my life. My son's best friend. The girl who is linked to Elena Gilbert." And in that moment, Lily ran up to Bonnie with her Vamp speed and bit her wrist forcing Bonnie to drink her blood.

"Now, son. You can either let the blood run out of her system in 24 hours or you can get your girl back by killing her. You know that you won't lose your best friend but she'll be a bit different but having Elena back is everything to you. Imagine the next years without Stefan always lecturing you. Your choice."

Without thinking twice, Damon ran up to Bonnie and whispered "I'm sorry Bonbon, this is only temporary. We'll get you cured as soon as Elena comes back with the cure in her system." And in that moment he broke Bonnie's neck as she screamed in desperate pain.

Then, she fell to the ground.
