"Good morning sweetheart" Yu-jin came to the hospital room with a beautiful face. "How do you feel this morning?" She inquired further. "Do you really need me to answer that question?" Y/n asked her favorite nurse tiredly.

Yu-jin's facial expressions quickly changed into pity. Y/n noticed how, if she looked carefully into someone else's eyes for the first five seconds they looked at her, the truth of their feelings would shine through for just an instant before it flickered away. Y/n clearly saw how Yu-jin forced the worry in her eyes to transform into a happy one within milliseconds.

"Look what I got for you," Yu-jin beamed while placing a book in her lap. Y/n looked at the book, which had a hard brown cover. The title of the book was written in a golden, shiny ink. In the middle of the book, there was a blurry painting of a young man with expensive-looking clothes, and behind him on both sides there were two shadows of women. The book was printed on crème paper. Y/n touched the edge of the book with her pale hand, which had a cannula in it.

"Well, sweetie, my friend got this from a public library. It's a rare book; he said that it was hard to find even in online bookshops. You can see how old is this book just by looking it's cover right? My friend told me that the female main character of the book has the same name as you. Well, I haven't read this book, but it looks like a book from the Victorian era. Hope you enjoy it." She patted y/n's head, leaving the book in her lap. Yu-jin helped her to sit in the hospital bed with the help of heavy pillows. There were two behind her for her to lean her back and two on the both sides to keep her from falling off the bed.

When Yu-jin left the room, y/n started to read the book. Hours passed as she read the book. Y/n closed the book when one of the characters died. Yu-jin was wrong; the girl with her name wasn't the main female lead of the book; instead, she was the villain of the book. A sarcastic laugh slipped from her lips. Even the y/n in the book was pathetic. She loved the Duke hopelessly and begged him to love her. But in the end, Duke always loved another woman. And the y/n in the book died in the most pathetic way in the world. She did many bad things in order to get that duke's love, but she was always the second choice. But the other girl was perfect. She was the woman of every man's dreams. She was kind, beautiful, and smart, as the book explained. Everyone liked her and respected her. But the y/n in the book was evil. Pure evil. Nobody liked her. Every one hated her just like she hated everyone. Maybe that's why she got killed in front of the man she loved. She didn't have anyone by her side; only one person was loyal to her. Thankfully, there wasn't anything written about her family in the book.

Y/n became aware at dinner time, barely managing to eat the little bit of mashed potatoes they'd provided for that evening. It was late, way past normal feeding hours which only increased the worries amongst doctors that y/n was getting worse. The more fatigued and lethargic the girl became, the worse off her condition seemed to be.

She let them think what they wanted, too tired to make some light-hearted joke about losing her appetite when she saw the doctor come in. Tonight, she just wanted to fall asleep and join the land of dreams once more. Maybe this should've frightened her more than it seemed to, but it didn't. She just felt calm and like she was floating a bit. Her body wasn't wracked with heaviness, and her limbs aren't impossible to move at the moment. She wondered if this was what dying felt like.
Was this the beginning stages of her body giving up? Would her parents even have a funeral, or would they cremate her and toss her ashes down a sewer drain?

"-Y/n?" It was her doctor trying to get her attention. He flashed a light in y/n's eyes, checking for a reaction. Y/n gave him one, a quick shove away from her face. The doctor backed off, taking that stupid light with him. Y/n irritably shut her eyes, ready to fall asleep again. "Hey, y/n, we need to run a few more tests tonight. Just standard stuff like a CAT scan and an MRI." The doctor stated this while reviewing y/n's previous reports, which were taken within the last week. "No." Y/n answered without opening her eyes.
