Y/n turned around to see a middle-aged lady, almost in the middle of her forties, looking at her with wide, teary eyes. She was wearing a long black dress that reached her ankles, with a white apron. She had tied her hair into a tight bun behind her head.
Y/n was hella confused. Did she do something to make the woman react like this? Y/n looked at the metal basin and the water on the floor. Then she looked back at the middle-aged woman.

She mumbled, "My lady," in a trembling voice. Y/n looked around the room. She pointed at herself when she realized there were only two of them in the room.
The woman raced towards her and nearly cried, "My lady, you are awake." The lady escorted y/n back to the bed by holding her hand. Y/n simply followed her, trying to figure out what's going on.

"Ms. Lee, kindly remain here. I will bring another bowl of warm water to clean you. Please rest here without moving, lady y/n. I don't want you to get sick again," the woman said, storming out of the room after collecting the basin.

"I am Lee Y/n? Y/n asked herself. But she was Kang y/n when she was in her original body. Hmmm, Lee y/n? She has heard this name somewhere before. But where? "Lee y/n, Lee y/n" y/n kept repeating the name in her mind while thinking so hard. Suddenly, something came to her mind. The book Yu-jin gave her. The second female lead in the book, Lee y/n. The villainess. The character she hated the most. The woman who dies pathetically because of a man.

Y/n felt like her head was spinning. She could understand now why the room was designed to match the Victorian era. She is inside a book. Maybe the old man she met was a magician or something. Y/n grabbed her head with both of her hands.

"My lady," the woman said, coming back to the room and quickly placing the tray on the table that was in the corner of the room before coming near y/n. "Are you okay, my lady? I already called the doctor and informed your father that you are awake," the middle aged woman said with a motherly voice while caressing y/n's hair. Y/n closed her eyes at the feeling.
"Eun-Ji?" Y/n guessed with a small, unsure voice. "Yes, my lady, does anywhere hurt?" She asked with a concern laced voice. Y/n shook her head.
"My lady, do you want me to help you clean up yourself?" She asked. Y/n just nodded her head without knowing what else to do.

Eun-Ji made her sit on the bed properly and kept two huge pillows behind y/n's back so she could lean into them comfortably. Then she bought a tray with the basin filled with warm water near y/n and placed it carefully on the bed. There was no issue with getting the bed wet because the edges of the tray curled up, preventing water from falling from it. Eun-Ji took a clean white cloth, wetting it with warm water, and whipped y/n's skin carefully as if it were made of glass.

"My lady, after you get fully recovered. You can take a warm bath. But for now, this will do." Eun-Ji said as she finished cleaning y/n. Then she walked to the closet and bought an expensive-looking light blue silk gown. It looked beautiful and comfortable. It's been years last time y/n wore something else other than her hospital gown.
"Since your grace is going to rest the whole day. This simple dress will keep you comfortable." Eun-Ji kindly smiled at her, making y/n smile back. But when she saw Y/n smile back at her, her eyes flashed with surprise; she looked like a deer caught in a headlight.
Y/n wasn't surprised by her shocked reaction. She remembered that in the book this y/n never treated anyone kindly. She treated her servants like slaves without even letting them raise their heads in front of her. But this young woman, who had spent her entire life in a hospital bed, understood what humanity is.

Eun-Ji's eyes lit up, and she walked towards y/n and helped her with the gown. After that, she walked to the dressing table and came back with a hair brush and some hair pins with baby blue gems in them. Then she stopped near the edge of the bed and looked at her with hopeful eyes, asking permission from y/n. Y/n move to the front a little bit, giving her space so she can brush her hair.

While Eun-Ji styled her hair to a single French braid a knock on the door was heard y/n turned her head towards the door and mumbled a small come in. Two butlers who were dressed in black suits came in and bowed their heads. One walked to the wall on the side of the room, while the other walked to the middle. Y/n was looking curiously at what they were doing because this was new to her. She saw the butler, who walked near the wall, taking a thick, long rope from behind a curtain. Y/n bent her head down so she could clearly see what he was doing. That's when y/n saw that the rope was tied tightly to a metal hook that was fixed to the wall. Then the butler untied the rope and started to release it slowly. Y/n's eyes widen when she sees the ceiling light that was hanging on the ceiling start to come down little by little. The other end of the rope that the butler was holding had tide to the end of the golden colour chain that used to hung up the light. When the ceiling light reached the height of the man in the middle of the room, he blew out the candles. And the other butlers pulled the rope again and tied it tightly in the hook again when the light made of crystals reached the ceiling.

After that, those two butlers bowed their heads down and left the room. Eun-Ji was also done with y/n's hair and left the room, telling her she would bring her morning tea. Y/n hated this; she lived her entire life in a hospital bed, and again, she had to stay in the bed and wait for the doctor. When she noticed the balcony's doors were open and letting in fresh air, she wanted to go there or at least look out the opened window. But she decided to stay in bed, as Eun-jin had requested. Y/n looked around the room, trying to take in every small detail of the room.

The room was beautifully decorated using gold and white hues. It had everything that a normal lady's room would have. But it was a big room, and there were many decorations and paintings on the walls. The room was practically filled with fresh flowers. There were at least fifty flower pots and flower vases in the room. There were some stuffed animals and decorative pillows on a couch. There were two large windows with golden curtains that reached the floor and a balcony. There were two doors on the side of the room. y/n guessed one must be a walk-in-wardrobe because earlier Eun-ji bought the dress from it, maybe the other one was the bathroom. The grandfather's clock ticking in the corner of y/n's room was the only sound she could hear. The fragrance of the flowers and perfume permeated the entire room.

Y/n was drowning in deep thoughts as she looked around the room. It was so amusing how her life changed in such a short period of time. Why does it always happen to her? Will she die again, this time tragically? No way, she's not going to let that happen. She will live this time; she's got a second chance in her life. Even though she didn't go outside, she could tell how beautiful the day was just by looking out the window.

She may not be where she wants to be, but she is somewhere. She refuses to die this time. Today, she chose to be happy. She chose to let go. She made the decision to be herself. To love herself. To cherish herself. Today, she chose to let go of the people whose company is toxic to her peace of mind. Today, she chose to be free. she choose to liberate her soul from the aches it's been through. Today, she chose to stay away from closed doors. She chose not to craft a wall around her heart. She chose to decorate it with the lessons she has learned. She chose to paint it with respect and confidence. Today, she chose to forgive herself. For being too much of herself. For allowing herself to hurt herself. Today, she chose to embrace her flaws. She chose to accept her mistakes. Today, she chose to change. She chose to be better. She chose to move forward. She chose to guard her soul. Today, she chose to be brave. She chooses to say no when saying yes hurts. Today, she chose to be wise. She chooses to walk away from places she doesn't belong. She chose to embrace her time. For all that is timeless is precious. All that is precious is unique. All that is unique is different. And all that is different is beautiful. Today, she chooses to be beautiful.

She used to hate herself her whole life. She may be in another person's body, but she has chosen to live. This body was obviously stronger than her previous one. She could do everything a normal person could do, so she will enjoy her life until she can. She will make this her story.
