S1,E2: Depths of Fear

Anastasia's Prov
It was another day in Shuggazoom and all was well, except for the scorching heat outside. Nothing like waking up to a literal oven as I exist our shared sleep pod, my mate offered me a glass of water.
Anastasia- Thank you love, you're a lifesaver.
Antauri- You're welcome, I've already made you breakfast as well.
He finished as he pulled out a bowl full of fruit. Watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, tangerines and bananas.
Anastasia- You always know what I like, but what about the others have they eaten yet?
Antauri- That's because I know during the summer you enjoy refreshing cool fruit, while in winter you enjoy baked goods and yes, they already have. If you include Gibson's three cups of coffee as breakfast, Otto stole his fourth cup, and you know what that means.
Anastasia- Oh boy this is going to be a fun day and I really need to talk to Gibson about proper nutritions since he's always on our tails about it.
Antauri- Agreed. But at least he'll burn that energy out soon enough, we're almost at the swimming hole now.
Anastasia- Do you think Chiro and Sprx are going to be okay? We both know they're scared of water, and I'm still trying to teach Chiro how to swim.
Antauri- They'll face their fears one day, I'm sure of it.
He said as we left our room, and I went to wash my dishes. Then we went to meet the others as we arrived at the river, and boy was everyone excited. Including Gibson, Otto and Nova since they were the first ones to run out as soon as the super robots' foot was open.
Gibson- Tally ho!
Nova- Water here we come!
Otto- Woohoo!
Nova- Yeah!
Otto- Watch out, here I goooo!...Ugh!
He yelled as he jumped over the edge, only to land at the very bottom of a dried upriver underneath Nova. It's a good thing Gibson had common sense to use his rocket pack instead of just jumping over the edge like the other two, and Antauri joined him at the bottom.
Antauri- This is an unfortunate turn of events. Gibson?
Gibson- According to my calculations...
Sprx77- The river dried up? Heh. Guess I'm a genius too.
Sprx interrupted Gibson as we looked over the edge. I swear if I didn't know my brothers and sister, you would have never guessed we were all the same age. With the boys being triplets, Gibson being the oldest of the three and Otto being the youngest. Sprx just seems to always want to challenge Gibson on everything. Then with Nova being just a few minutes younger than Sprx, you would think that she was older than all three of them for how mature she is. Then I hear Chiro next to me let out a big sigh.
Chiro- No water... Ah! I mean too bad what a shame.
Then the earth started to shake almost causing us to fall in as well.
Chiro- What was that?!
Gibson- Minor tectonic activity, nothing to get excited about.
Otto- Yes there is.
Otto pointed out as water gushed from the earth and the others were caught in its currents, the only one who was safe was Antauri. Then Otto resurfaced from under the waves.
Otto- Swimming is a go! Ha!
Then my mate joins them in the water as the others start playing games.
Chiro- Ah great.
Sprx77- Hey kid, just be cool.
Chiro- I am! Cool as a hardly sweating, cool person.
Sprx77- Ah huh, so are ya goanna go in.
Chiro- I would but the water looks too deep. I mean cold!
Anastasia- Chiro hun.
Gibson- According to my readings the water is warm, unusually warm.
Otto- Wasn't me.
Anastasia- Oh Otto, you big goofball.
I couldn't help but laugh a little as I shook my head.
Nova- Then where is this warm water coming from?
Gibson- If you had studied your history, you'll know that Shuggazoom was constructed above a subterranean reservoir.
Nova- Oh no.
Otto- Monkey Tsunami!
Otto jumped out of nowhere and landed in the water, causing a wave to drench both my brother and sister. That would explain why he rocked it out of the water in the first place, he'll never change.
Otto- Ah haha! Oh! You should have seen the look on your faces!
Gibson- You are such a child.
He then proceeds to turn his hand into a drill and shot Otto in the face with water, not realizing Nova had her own plans.
Nova- Boom Boom Wake-Up!
She ended up causing a wave to wash both of them away and knowing my mate he's sitting at the bottom meditating again as those two drifts on by. I would have joined him sooner, but I still had to help Chiro.
Sprx77- Kid it's okay, I know how you feel.
Chiro- What do you mean?
Sprx77- Ye-ah you know you'll get all a wet. A-and there's all that sand getting in your shorts, and you get your fingers turning all wrinkly.
Chiro- Totally. I mean absolutely.
Anastasia- Sprx you and I both know that's not what the problem is, and don't try to deny that you...
But before I could finish my sentence there was another quake, causing the others to get out of the water.
Otto- Uh oh another quake, this can't be good.
Antauri- It's not. Monkeys mobilize.
We all ran back to the robot and Chiro changed into hyper mode. Then once again proceeded to our designated stations.
Chiro- Hyper Force Go!
Nova- Foot Crusher Cruiser 6 Go!
Otto- Foot Crusher Cruiser 5 Go!
Gibson- Fist Rocket 4 Go!
Sprx77- Fist Rocket 3 Go!
Antauri/Anastasia- Brain Scrambler Pilot 2 Go!
Chiro- Torso Tank Driver 1 Go! Prepare to disengage!
The Super Robot then disassembled, and we were off. Antauri analyzing the surrounding areas and I preparing my medical kits in case of emergency.
Antauri- We got flooding in sectors 3, 5 and 11.
Chiro- 11? That's the transit tunnel, make tracks team!
Anastasia- If the transit tunnel is flooding, it won't take long to completely be submerged judging by how fast it's filling up.
Chiro- That's why we have to hurry.
We then entered the tunnel, but the water had already reached the windows of the train and knocked it off the track. The whole tunnel was collapsing around us, as large chunks of the ceiling was just barely missing us.
Chiro- Gibson, Sprx I need cover, blast those tiles.
Sprx77- We're on it kid.
They then blasted the rubble away creating a safe clear path for us to get to the transit car, but part of the wall fell away, and even more water was rushing in.
Chiro- Great water everywhere. Nova, Otto plug those leaks.
Nova- Got cha.
Otto- Aye aye chief.
Nova was able to hold the wall, while Otto was able to seal it with his homemade sealant. I still don't know exactly what it's called or what it's made out of, but it does work efficiently.
Chiro- Antauri, Anastasia we need an escape hatch.
Antauri- My thoughts exactly.
Anastasia- Let us know when to beam them up.
We then proceeded to blast a hole in the ceiling of the tunnel leading back to the surface, then waited for Chiro to give us the order.
Chiro- Moving Transit car into place. Thunder Punch! Okay start bringing them up.
Antauri- On it.
We then started beaming the citizens up to safety and so far, everyone looked all right. But just as we were about to get the last people out of there, trouble started turning its head. For we could still hear our team from the speakers as the water kept on rising up even more.
Nova- Oh no you don't.
Sprx77- Hurry it up kid, the ceiling ain't looking good!
Chiro- That's everybody we're clear.
Nova- Otto!
Otto- I see it!
Sprx77- Monkey Doodle!
Gibson- No call for such language! Double Monkey Doodle.
We could hear them before they went offline, Chiro's screams being the last thing we heard before his signal was broken. Then all we could hear was static.
Antauri/Anastasia- Chiro.
Anastasia- Antauri we have to get down there they're in trouble!
Antauri- I know but we can't help them if we do not have their exact location. Chiro is still online but with all the interference I can barely hear anything he's saying.
He was right of course for the static and interference from the tunnel, along with all the water was making it hard to hear anything.
Chiro- Not a p-pr-o-blem. T-tak-ing the To-o-so Tank o-out of-f-f he-re. I ca-an make it fe-e-ew stro-okes a-and I'm there no-o-o pr-o-blem.
It hurt to hear him like this, poor Chiro was starting to get scared, and we couldn't get a signal to him. I just hope he can hang on a little longer, we almost got his location.
Chiro- Monk-k-key Te-e-am I-I ha-ve a pr-o-blem. Monk-k-key Te-e-am! Monk-k-key Te-e-am come in over! Nov-va? Ot-t-to do you read? Sp-rx? Gib-b-son? Somebody?! Not-hing to-o be afraid o-of, An-t-taur-r-ri wo-o-uld say ju-ust vis-s-sualiz-ze the solution and one wi-ill come. Right.
I was so worried; I could hear him coughing up water and he was all alone. I couldn't stand it, but thankfully we could finally hear the others on the speaker.
Nova- Somebody call for a push?
Otto- You okay Chiro?
Chiro- Me? Why wouldn't I be? Uh anyone see Sprx or Gibson?
Gibson- Somebody call me?
Sprx77- Nice job Gibson.
Anastasia- They're all right, Antauri?
Antauri- On it!
We then proceeded to blast through the ceiling again to get our boy who is stuck on top of the transit car.
Antauri- Chiro grab on!
Chiro- Let's scram!
Otto- Yahoo!
Sprx77- We're out of here!
We then left as fast as we can out of the transit tunnel, but there's still so much water everywhere and it was only getting worse. Half of Shuggazoom City was now in water, and we were forced to land on the bridge as we all went to investigate the damage.
Chiro- It's rising too fast!
Gibson- the intensive seismic activity most likely damaged the cities subterraneal support system.
Chiro- I get it the cities sinking.
Antauri- Then the damage must be repaired, we have one option.
Sprx77- Um we go back down?
Chiro- Underwater.
Anastasia- It'll be alright Chiro; we'll be with you.
Chiro- Thanks Ann.
We returned to our transports and headed off the bridge into the water, once there we headed down to the source of the problem.
Chiro- Um how deep do we have to go?
Gibson- Conservative estimate, 20,000 mega phantoms.
Otto- Ooh that sounds really deep, just think if we got stuck down here. I wonder if the fish would eat us?
Anastasia- Otto that's enough now, Chiro just breath okay. Nothing's going to happen, we got you.
Antauri- She's right Chiro. Underground lake directly ahead.
We then arrived under the city, and it was massive, but what caught my attention was the massive chunks taken out of the pillars supporting said city. And I wasn't the only one.
Antauri- Impressive.
Chiro- Wow.
Nova- Check it out.
Otto- That's big.
Sprx77- Whoa!
Gibson- And to think the entire city is supported by these pillars.
Otto- Looks like the quake hit this one pretty hard.
Antauri- It appears we may have a bigger problem.
Anastasia- Agreed.
Gibson- I would speculate those holes are not from any earthquake.
Otto- They almost look like...
Chiro- Teeth, teeth marks.
Sprx77- Watch out!
A pillar then broke and landed into another pillar causing a chain reaction, thus causing the city above us to sink further down on top of us.
Sprx77- Heads up in coming!
Nova- Heads up guys!
Chiro- The cities coming down rescinder mode team go!
Chiro- Super!
Sprx77- Robot!
Antauri/Anastasia- Monkey!
Nova- Team!
Otto- Hyper!
Gibson- Force!
All- Go!
Luckily, we were able to reassemble the robot in time and catch the city, before it's sank to the bottom with us crushed underneath it.
Gibson- The city is stabilized; the robot is holding. I stand corrected, it obviously wasn't in earthquake that caused the city to sink.
Otto- It was some kind of big toothy thing.
Anastasia- What ever it is that caused this, is probably still here.
Nova- So let's find it, so I can smash it and pound it and slam it and...
Antauri- Nova
Anastasia- Calm yourself please, you almost took our heads off.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her embarrassment. Nova has quite a fiery spirit to her and sometimes she gets a little carried away with it.
Antauri- Prep for underwater mode.
Sprx77- Course ah somebody has to stay behind, handle the robot. So that would probably be me...
Chiro- Me! I-I'll do it, I'll stay.
Anastasia- Chiro it's okay if you don't want to go, but are you sure you'll be alright by yourself?
Chiro- Yeah totally Ann, you don't have to worry about me.
Anastasia- Alright but you better contact me if something happens.
Chiro- Promise.
Antauri- Then it's decided Chiro will remain, while we go find the cause of all this damage.
Sprx77- Yippee me, I mean sure why not?
The others and I then formed our oxygen masks and followed Antauri out of the robot, Sprx at our tail bringing up the rear. It was so dark out here, even with our headlights we could barely see ahead of us.
Gibson- I'm picking up anonymous readings' somethings, something's moving.
Chiro- Got it on radar, you're on course to intersect.
Nova- Yo Sprx pick up the pace.
But he never did, and I was getting worried again. I couldn't explain it, but I felt like something was watching us, then Chiro called in.
Chiro- Sprx come in, monkey team I've lost Sprx.
Nova- I'll get him.
Otto- Nova wait up.
Then they were off as well, but within that next moment Gibson, Antauri and I were surrounded by giant tentacle like creatures with sharp teeth. This would explain where all the giant holes in the pillars came from, but I don't think I want to see if they have a taste for monkey.
Chiro- I've lost Nova, Otto too. Somebody report what's going on?
Antauri- We're surrounded they're everywhere!
Anastasia- There's too many of them!
Gibson- Ooh where are these things coming from?
Chiro- Things? What things?
The things then got closer to us, and we attacked, but one by one they we're able to get a hold of us and destroy our jetpacks in the process.
Antauri- Chiro!
Anastasia- Chiro help!
Gibson- Chiro we need your help! Ahhh! Help Chiro, help us. Ah ah ah wah!
They started to drag us down and I saw the others were captured as well. Gibson was trying to contact Chiro as we were pulled down further to the bottom.
Gibson- Chiro do you read.
Otto- We could do with some help.
Sprx77- The kids ain't coming, we all knew Chiro was afraid of water! What'd we'd expect!
Antauri- Have faith in the boy he'll face his fears, after all you did.
Anastasia- He's right if you can face your fears so can he.
Then Nova pointed out a giant worm at the bottom attached to the tentacle creatures, so this is what it truly is the tentacles were just its limbs.
Nova- Hey Sprx.
Sprx77- Oh heh what big teeth. Great.
Just as we were about to be eaten, Chiro finally arrived to the rescue.
Antauri- Chiro.
Anastasia- Thank goodness.
Otto- Yahoo!
Sprx77- Guess I underestimated the kid.
Anastasia- You can say that again Sprx.
Sprx77- Hey what took you so long?
Chiro- I couldn't find my flippers.
Chiro and Otto released us from our captors, and I couldn't be prouder of Chiro. He was finally able to face his fear and learned how to swim at the same time. I wasn't the only one for I could see Antauri have a look of pride on his face, like a father to his son. But it didn't last long as the creature tried to capture us once again, and we had to fight.
Chiro- Whoa!
Gibson- Move it!
Chiro- Wha!
Sprx77- Ugh!
Chiro- Any idea how to fight this thing?
Nova- Not like this.
Chiro- Woo I'm burning up, why is the water so hot down here?
Otto- It's not Me!
Antauri- Whatever this creature is, it seems to thrive in elevated temperatures.
Anastasia- Which means unless we somehow make the temperatures colder it won't stop.
Gibson- Oop ahh! Which is probably why it positioned itself directly above an active lava flow.
Sprx77- Terrific we're standing over a volcano. It just keeps getting better.
Chiro- So let's turn up the heat. Thunder Punch!
Chiro struck the ground with full force causing it to crack. What does he think he is doing?
Gibson- Chiro you'll trigger an eruption!
Chiro- Exactly follow My lead team. Hyper Force Go!
Antauri- The boy has lost his fears.
Gibson- And his mind.
We all now understood what he was doing and proceeded to follow his lead.
Sprx77- Magnet Tingler Blast!
Otto- Whirling Destructo Saws!
Nova- Boom Boom Wake Up!
Antauri/Gibson- Double Monkey Attack!
Anastasia- See-Do Copy Claws!
The ground then shattered under the beast as it sank into the lava, giving one final roaring screech as it went.
Chiro- Who's sinking who now ugly!
Antauri- Time to go monkey team!
Anastasia- We need to get back to the robot now!
Sprx77- Our rocket packs are busted; we'll never beat this heat!
Chiro- Sprx remember? Be cool.
Sprx77- Uh cool? Right! Come on kid.
He then turned his tail into his fan and took Chiro's hand as he propelled his himself away. The rest of us followed in suit, but before we completely left, we all saw the beast start to turn to stone holding the city in place once more.
Nova- Looks like Shuggazoom City just got a new foundation.
We return to the Super Robot and separated as we entered back into the city, the citizens cheered for us as we went back to base. But Chiro had other plans in mind.
Chiro- Hey team how about instead of returning to base, we go back to the swimming hole instead?
Sprx77- Yeah, I actually want to enjoy the water this time, instead of fighting for my life.
Anastasia- Are you boys sure about this?
Chiro/Sprx77- Please?
Antauri- I guess it would be nice to be able to relax after everything we've been through today. So, I don't see any problem with it.
Chiro/Sprx77- Yes!
We all changed our course back to the water hole and reassemble the robot, as Chiro and Sprx ran to the water. They both jumped in and started playing together, these moments of peace with the ones I love the most are my favorites.
Chiro- Hahaha!
Sprx77- Hehe! Watch out! Hehehe!
Then one of the creatures' tentacles popped right in front of them! I was about to go down and stop it before it got too close to the boys, but then I see Nova emerge from the water holding it up. She almost gave me a heart attack! But she'll learn her lesson soon enough, for I saw Otto was about to pull another one of his famous cannonballs.
Nova- Hahahaha! Should have seen your faces! Oh no.
Otto- Monkey Tsunami!
He ended up washing all three of them away, I couldn't help but laugh as they all reemerged from under the water once more. Yep, moments like these I love the most and I would never want to change that for the world. We stayed at that swimming hole until sunset and after everyone had eaten dinner, Antauri and I tucked Chiro into bed and wished him good night. It couldn't have been more perfect as I fell asleep next to my mate and thought what the next day would bring.
